  1. Best part is that the angle they took this from, looks like 1 entrance.
  2. That is a huge slam to the Rangers. I am sure they were hoping that with the way they are playing, he could get healthy and be a factor in playoffs, even if in relief 1 inning at a time, what a boost would be.
  3. “Do you know my dog’s name?” “Cerberus,” I said promptly. “But everyone knows that.” “Do you know what it means?” I opened my mouth and closed it again. I shook my head. “It is from an ancient word, kerberos. It means ‘spotted.’” I blinked. “You’re a genuine Greek god. You’re the Lord of the Underworld. And . . . you named your dog Spot?” “Who’s a good dog?” Hades said, scratching the third head behind the ears, and making the beast’s mouth drop open in a doggy grin. “Spot is. Yes, he is.” ― Jim Butcher, Skin Game
  4. I would doubt it, only because Wardlow is just not good enough on the mic. One of the reasons I think they have Arn with him now. I have a sneaking suspicion they will have Jay White take it at some point, setting up White vs Omega - last 2 leaders of the Bullet Club, but we shall see.
  5. Review I read from https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10077475-aew-double-or-nothing-2023-results-winners-live-grades-reaction-and-highlightswas very down on the Cole/Jericho match due to the ending, which seemed to negate the whole unsanctioned part. Not sure where they are going with the BCC/Elite thing. Given his injuries (or apparent ones) I am surprised they didnt use this to give someone else Cassidy's belt. Again, not surprised MFJ retained, though that same report I mentioned really likes him as a villain, I find him tiring. The guys from the report do feel that AEW is starting to rely too much on gimicks, especially bleeding, that doesn't really help their ppv because we see it free every week on the regular programs. One of the things, when AEW started, that I really liked is that they seemed to be setup to give younger guys (see 3 of the 4 pillars as I dont believe MJF was there from the start) and lesser knowns (Lucha Bros are one) a real shot at showing their stuff, but as they have gone on, I keep seeing older wrestlers being pushed as they left WWE (Christian, Jarrett, the Hardys, heck even Brian Danielson). I don't count Jericho, because tho older, he has been there from the beginning and actually has put a lot of younger guys over. It's funny to me, as I think I said before, that the Women's division is having this exact storyline - Wrestlers who started and have grown with AEW vs Wrestlers coming in from WWE. Honestly, given their current roster, if you weren't going to have one of those 3 take the belt from MJF, not sure who you would. They wasted Danielson with MJF (one of the reasons I find him tiring is he doesn't ever wrestle, from what I see), they literally have twice now had MJF beat Allin with a side headlock pin. I am hopeful they don't return to Perry vs Christian/Luchasaurus (who, like Big Bill, they have no idea what to do with). I will be curious to see with Perry what happens as i believe he is dating Anna Jay, so wonder if he will join them.
  6. Tribble, think there is any chance they take the belt off MJF? I think not.
  7. Ok, first, I love that pun and Lady P must have the patience of Job, like Lady S to put up with you for as long as she has.
  8. Gene Wilder could have done any of the 3. He easily could have done the Maniacal Joker, the Smarter then You Riddler OR the In his own world Hatter, and I would have loved to see him do any of the 3. On the other hand, Not being as big a fan of Woody Allen, but the stuff I have seen him as, I would rather see him as Hatter then Joker.
  9. One of the interviews I saw was with the actress who played Cosmo - it was on a compendium of the actors and Gunn talking about working on set and the atmosphere. So, she went in thinking "I will be in a studio while all these other people work" but Gunn actually had her come out on sets and play Cosmo. She said she had a blast.
  10. Remade with Tom Hanks as the Man with one Red Shoe. Also good and funny. It sounds like a direct remake, too, from your description.
  11. Well, I play and enjoy the Dark Souls style games, so this type of difficulty not unexpected to me in games. Games with multiple enemies attacking really do need some type of CC other then dodge and run around. Still looking forward to playing it.
  12. As an enormous fan of the original theatrical release, can I ask what the original ending was? Spoiler if you want, am just curious.
  13. Agreed with this and reiterate how much it blew LaT out of the water. I think these 2 movies show the difference in Gunn and Waititi: One knows there are points in the movie that should not have frat humor involved and the other doesn't. Reminds me of a quote about Mike Meyers - "he will beat a joke to death then keep hitting it in the chest till it revives". Only con I had was not a fan of their Adam Warlock, but, given what they did he can grow into that man we know. The stuff in the beginning with Quill and Gamora was painful to watch, but actually it needed to be and pays off later Loved the mid credits scene and the after credits was interesting. Oh, and Cosmo is a GOOD DOG.
  14. Agreed, but I still would think that he should be acting more like the other actor and less like pre-teen on sugar. Reminds me of Face/Off where both Cage and Travolta would have the other act out a part before stepping in and doing it themself to see how the character they were playing would have responded. I think there should be a certain amount of this. Heck, even the animated JL series had him be a younger kid who was trying to act older as Marvel, even if his insides were doing the this is sooooo cool dance.
  15. Yeah, but if any of those "vision problems" persevere, his career is over. I know, not the most urgent thing on the list, but I bet he would rate it pretty high. You can't have someone standing out there as hard as balls are hit now with impaired vision.
  16. I still feel like Levi is playing the character as a pre teen, as opposed to what his age is in the movies and how the actor playing him portrays. Otherwise, I enjoyed both Movies.
  17. with the balanced schedule this year (only play your division opponents 13 times each) there is actually a possibility of a division having every team over 500. One of the annoying things with My Angels - 2 of those wins for the A's are against us, one of which we gave up 11 runs to them and one of our losses gave up 11 runs to KC. We have played the "easy" part of our schedule and are 3 games over 500.
  18. I once remembered ESPN doing a show on players who started slow, and a lot of the usual suspects. Then they showed Tony, who said that he also tended to start slow, but no one ever felt bad for him because his slow start was hitting 320. Said probably would cost him any chance of hitting 400.
  19. thanks for that link. so, I go back to what one of the writers said, why cant you just have a pool of the 30 best home plate ball and strike callers and pay them a little extra, put 2 in each crew and they alternate.
  20. When ever anyone argues against some type of robo ump system (i am good with challenge system if keep challenge if right) I point them to the Angel/Brewer game from last night. The umpire was calling pitches that the catcher was receiving in the opposite batters box as strikes, but it gets worse. At one point, he called a strike on (I believe was Drury, but he was calling these on both teams) a pitch about 5 inches outside, so your option is to move closer to the plate, where the next pitch almost hit his knees and was called for strike 3. So now, the plate, for this ump, has grown about 4-5 inches on BOTH sides. Ok, so he must not give high or low strikes, right? Wrong. AFter the Angels put men on 1st and 2nd with no outs, their 9th hitting rookie looked to attempt a bunt but pulled the bat back well before the ball got to home and as the catcher caught the ball bouncing off the ground in front of him, umpire signals strike. Did he call it on the swing? no, straight called strike. Neto then bunted at a somewhat high pitch since he had no idea what was considered a strike and only had the one more pitch to do so, popping it up to the first baseman for the first out. If the challenge system had been in play this game, I suspect conservatively between the 2 teams that it would have been used 30+ times that game. This ump should be nowhere near home plate in a game.
  21. I keep hearing from the Analysts, when Kenny says the whole thing with the shift is just hit the ball the other way, that with the velocity being thrown today (saw a stat, avg fastball 20 years ago was between 91-93, now between 94-96) there just isn't time to adjust. Also, that these HR hitters aren't there to hit singles and fans want to see them hit HRs, even if only hitting 220. I disagree, but thats me.
