  1. IIRC, when the Chargers were up 21-3, the offensive stats for both teams, yardage wise, was pretty much the same. Difference in game was Chargers took ball away and Jets didn't get any of the fumbles they caused. This game was painful to watch, honestly.
  2. Said to my brother that maybe the team decided to actually play with Josh gone.
  3. All True Bazza, but in doing almost all of those, his EGO got in the way of common sense. Putting an unknown AI from off world into Ultron, an ultimate weapon. Not listening to Steve's argument and assuming he could control any government interference in the Avengers, then, again, not really investigating Winter Soldier's attack, but following "orders" and attacking Steve and the others. Not following up on what was going on with SHIELD and Project Insight, but instead effectively handing the 3 most technological weapons to a Bureaucracy run organization, despite his earlier run-ins with them, including butting heads with the leader of SHIELD over their secret weapon projects. So, again, I wasn't saying Tony's reasons for doing things weren't, in some ways, altruistic, but that his own arrogance made him think that it was better for everyone and that he could keep control of it.
  4. The problem they have with Strange, and to a slightly lesser degree Stark, was that they need to show their ridiculous level of arrogance in addition to being more intelligent then the people he interacts with. So how do you show this, by making him do something that anyone with a modicum of common sense would know was stupid. It reminds me of a variant of Wolverine is a great fighter - Iron Fist level fighter, but the only way to show his healing factor and adamantium skeleton is for him to constantly get his butt kicked. If you actually showed how good a fighter he was, then his healing factor and toughness wouldn't come into play most of the time as he wouldn't get hit. For Strange and Stark, you have to show their arrogance by having them assuming that they know all the variables and therefore can use their superior intelligence to control the situation.
  5. This seems an appropriate response: https://cad-comic.com/comic/the-herald/
  6. I still love the fact that none of them mailed in their performances. NWH was a very fun movie.
  7. This is one of those things. Do you give credit to Eovaldi, who has a rep for pitching better with men on, or do you blame the D'Backs hitters for not getting guys home from third with less then 2 outs? Maybe a combination of both.
  8. Must be so the weather then?
  9. And, my first thought was that even these "serious" scenes, they couldn't resist adding stupid silly too it. Zeus behind curtain with ice cream eavesdropping, Mjolnir tapping on window. God this could have been such a better movie. It had so many good elements and people.
  10. I interpreted this much like Downey's Stark. He never feels there is something his intelligence can't overcome, so warnings are for lesser men and women.
  11. Again, have to wonder after the Houston/Texas series. Has there ever been another 7 game series where the visiting team won every game. I know there has been at least one with the home team winning every game.
  12. My brother says its because Josh Allen is on the cover of Madden 23. Also, just wanted to mention. A few years back, when it looked like Miami and Philly might play in SB, I commented how TV would love this because they could talk about Hurts and Tua replacing each other in consecutive years at Alabama in the National Championship game and winning it. Someone said that no one would care what happened X years ago in college. So last night they play each other on SNF and the opening story - Tua replacing Hurts then Hurts replacing Tua and how they are still in contact.
  13. 2 opposite series. One no home team has won a game, other, no visiting team has won a game.
  14. and a gut punch for the Rangers. Take a 4-2 lead to 9th and their closer gives up 3 run HR to Altuve to lose. Now down 3-2 going to Houston.
  15. I think today is a must win for Texas. Yes they swept first 2 in Houston, but I don't think you can count on that. They can't afford to be down 3-2 going back to Houston.
  16. Anyone notice an uptick in referees calling illegal man downfield, even on plays shouldn't be?
  17. I don't know, JJJ might go bigger and say he is trying to steal America.
  18. Their hope is they were a better road team and they still haven't gotten into the Texas bullpen, really. but yeah, not good, especially as this was Valdez starting and he really was their ace until they got Verlander back. but that 1st, seeing eye single, bloop single, error by Valdez for first run and men on 1st and 3rd, hard single for run, all on 10 pitches, strikeout ( on a very bad call - tipped 3rd strike ball that hit dirt but ump called out), then another single before another out. and that bases loaded 5th for Houston, those were batters 9, 1 (Altuve) and 2 (Bregman)
  19. Don't forget not getting the FG at the end of the first half when Taylor inexplicably switched plays to a run that was stuffed with no timeouts left with 13 secs left, iirc, and the time ran out. Think they could have used those 3 points at the end of the game?
  20. And now 5 of 6 of the division winners are out and it only took a Texas collapse in the last 2 weeks that allowed Houston to take division and now they have a chance to overcome that. Course, I still expect Houston to win and think now we will see a Philly/Houston WS.
  21. That family was great and "cursed". An example of young wrestlers who died too soon.
  22. Interesting article on the marvel tv shows and changes coming: https://gizmodo.com/marvel-daredevil-born-again-tv-disney-kevin-feige-1850917768
  23. Cassie and Janet (who was established in Ant Man as working right along with Pym and has been gone for 20 years), but who is the third. Can't be the girl from MoM as it is pretty established in the movie she is from an alternate dimension. I am not trying to argue as I do think that their PC push for female characters is over the top pendulum swing response. On a similar thing, was funny. My wife and I were watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Pitt and Jolie movie, 2005) and once the secrets come out and they start comparing careers, it was ridiculous how much better she had been. The scene with the "how many people have you killed" happened and I looked at my wife and said when the movie came out, that was funny, but now it feels like they could have done a better job of making them close or equals.
  24. Yeah, the 3 AL east teams, the division that was considered the best in baseball where all 5 were over 500, iirc, in August was a really bad showing. They talk about the time off, but I really wonder if the fact that teams like the Dodgers, Braves, Orioles, Rays etc had all clinched at least a playoff game early had more to do with it. Easy to play when you can relax a little. Look how much better the non playoff teams seem to play once eliminated.
  25. Can't agree with this more. We have talked about the step back that young QBs seem to take, but a big part of that is an O-line that cannot block and are getting them killed or receivers who can make spectacular catches but not ones that hit them in the hands (this feels like an epidemic in the NFL). Carr's brother is a great example of this, but I have seen it recently with Burrows and Lawrence.
