I am working on Champions Lite. It is deliberately missing many elements of the Hero System (Adjustment Powers, Mental Powers, many Modifiers, Vehicles, many skills, etc), but the intent is that every Lite character will be mostly viable in a standard Champions game of the same power level. It will contain basic character templates, sample characters (built from the templates), and a short adventure.

The plan is that it will give potential players a free taste of the Hero System's potential, but also encourage them to upgrade to the full version.

Duke Bushido isn't the only one with a standard rant about the creation of light. But, carry on anyways. 😁

Obviously not familiar with the definition of "typically".

One of the Star Trek books, the non-bridge crew heroes were stranded on an over-powered towing ship which technically didn't have any weapons. The bad guys had hijacked the Enterprise and were about to escape.

They grabbed one of the warp nacelles of the Enterprise with one tractor beam and grabbed onto the planet with the other. And let the Enterprise twist it's own warp nacelle sideways as it tried to leave.

Of course they had to later explain their actions to Captain Kirk, and worse to Scotty. But still better than letting the bad guys get away.

I've always thought that was a real RPG maneuver which you rarely see written up in fiction.

The distinction between, "efficient character building" and, "powergaming" can be pretty fine. I consider powergaming to be exploiting the rules to create a character more combat-effective than the campaign guidelines would normally allow.

Funny that they're vandalizing Pelosi's house and not McConnell's about this.

Turned out to be good enough odds.  Thank all the gods, even the Old Ones.  On a critical fail this cancer pulls out the old Iron Crown tables.
