  1. They should remember this is GIRL power not GRRL power (how I heard Batgirl in a recent animated described). Supergirl embraces the fact that she is a girl (after Cat Grant helped her with that). She owns it. She doesn't hate herself for not being male. Recognizing that there are differences is not feminism (in fact, it's rather the opposite of feminism).
  2. Really, it's okay. I think Comet was in human form at the time. Seeing as how it was in the time of full enforcement of the Comics Code Authority, I'm almost certain it would be that way.
  3. My wife and I were watching Flash tonight. Dr. Light performed some brilliance blast and burned Barry's retinas. I turned to my wife and said, "She blinded him with science!" Stunned look. Said nothing. Ignored the pun.
  4. I had that flash when watching the latest episode. I'm not curious about Wells again. I'm still getting the evil vibe from him, but maybe he's not Zoom. Then again, he could be just setting everyone up for a betrayal. The Ferengi say the sharper the smile, the sharper the knife. There's a Pacific/Indian ocean tribe that used to revere traitors who first "fattened" their victims with friendship.
  5. Why can't vampires stop drinking coffee?
  6. Flash Season 1 is discounted. I do not know how long this will last. DVD $30. BR $35.
  7. Barry's differing intellect does throw me. Several times I've said to myself, hasn't he already learned that lesson? Shouldn't he have figured this one out? I'm looking forward to seeing Jay get his speed back, too.
  8. That hurts. Sorry to hear that. ==== Must remember to not discuss anything serious before breakfast and don't take anything said personal at the same time. Really. It's probably not as snarky as I'm interpreting it. My brain isn't processing everything quite right in that situation.
  9. Everyone in Oklahoma and Texas knows that the chicken crossed the road to show the armadillo it could be done.
  10. Possible. Each to a different earth could have been my mind filling in the blanks.
  11. Could be. Right now, I think that E2's Zoom is Thawne from E2's future, but they could switch things around on us and it be Wells from E2. About the breaches, DC has the multiverse of 52 earths. When they showed the breaches on the screen, I concluded it was a reference to the DC52. When they said "There are 52 breaches," each leading to a different earth, it caught me off guard because that means they are dealing with a total of 53 earths.
  12. I don't think Thawn ever said he was aka Professor Zoom. To my knowledge, he only went by Reverse Flash with them. IIRC, there was a promotion in season 1 that said, "Zoom is coming," but that's all. Another thing that makes me think E2's Zoom is Thawn (though how the future Thawn's both wound up killing Wells on their Earths is a coincidence inside an enigma wrapped around a puzzle plated by a riddle) is how Zoom was trying to kill Jay. He did the same vibrating hand trick that Reverse Flash used. Not a complete giveaway as any speedster could do that but a clue or misdirection. And FO noticed the same thing I did with Thawn and the helmet last season. As soon as Thawn recognized the helmet and said it was time to go, I knew he was familiar with the alternate earths. I don't know if he can travel between them, but he knows about them.
  13. I noticed that, too. I actually cringed just a bit. I was expecting them to say "51 breaches."
  14. Yep. "We could have whipped the Yankees with corn stalks, but they wouldn't fight that way." -paraphrasing Robert Toombs, secessionist and politician
  15. 10-14 years ago I worked for a place that had a policy of don't touch the VBA macro unless you wrote it. I was an editor there, but understood the policy. I finally heard how it came to be. Seems one department had a macro written by one of their employees. It ran once a week and did exactly what they needed it to do. Run time, 5-10 minutes. He left. A couple of times, he was called in as a consultant to fix it because someone had tried to improve the macro. Finally, he said, "This is the last time. I refuse to fix this macro anymore." Sometime later, he gets a phone call. A new employee had tried to improve the macro again. It was now completely inoperable. The former coder stood by his promise and did not come back to fix it. The newbie had not made a backup of it nor had anyone else over the years. The department had to hire two full-time employees to do what this macro did in 5 minutes once a week.
  16. Bolt would order whatever has the most meat toppings and get to work. He'd have Null Space working on the robots to see if there is anything missed by Charlie (Null Space would take the Super Spicy Supreme). Bolt is no stranger to the supernatural, his girlfriend turned into a vampire once. Then her team of monsters got Borged. Pity. He and Guardian Angel would be checking the occult and mystic angle. Since none of the team are mystics (all genetically engineered), it would be footwork and calling in favors. (And Guardian Angel would order the veggie lover's.)
  17. I had an idea for Otford manor. Roll a d12. If it comes up a natural 12, the killer takes out one of the combatants, determined randomly. This would be using the d12 from the last two seasons.
  18. Oh? Why's that? He comes across as chaos personified to me.
  19. I tell you, remove the warning labels, and let nature do what it's supposed to.
  20. Yeah. No contest there. It would be more of a contest is Rasitlin were still in his climb to power. Some point after claiming the Tower of High Sorcery... Pondering when it would be a grand match.
  21. I'm reading Dragons of Autumn Twilight again, and there was a statement made that Raistlin cares only for acquiring power and does not care who he hurts to get it. That, naturally, reminded me of Xykon. Two black-robed mages of the power=power variety. In a head-to-head battle, who would win? Raistlin Majere: Power level at the top of his game just before he challenges Takhisis. He is the master of past and present. Few, if any, magic user on Krynn has commanded the powers of Raistlin. He defeated Fistandantilus in the past and would have defeated Takhisis if he had chosen to continue his fight. While completely ruthless, Raistlin adheres to a strict code of conduct: he repays all debts and protects the disadvantaged and downtrodden. He can also be cruel and will use others to achieve his ends. Neutral(?) Evil. As a wizard of Krynn, Raistlin's magic has to be prepared before hand. However, with his levels, this isn't much of a disadvantage. He will use whatever spell is necessary for the job at hand. Xykon: As he currently is in the OotS, as he has never been stronger. A lich. Not a mage, not a wizard, a sorceror. He didn't crib his magic from "Spell Casting for Dummies"; it's in his bones. He doesn't have to prepare his spell slots at the beginning of the day. He can use any spell in his arsenal as long as he has a spell slot for that level and knows the spell. Xykon is at least 21st level and has cast epic-level magic included maximized 9th-level spells.* He lives up to the stereotypical evil overlord from fantasy and is genuinely cruel and sadistic. He typically avoids finesse for shock and awe. Getting the job done right the first time is his goal. Chaotic evil. *His exact levels and abilities have never been revealed by Burlew as this would hamper him too much in writing.
  22. Did anyone else notice that last week's "Naked Aggression" day has seven women filling the eight slots.
