  1. P.281 of FREd states that when knocked back into a wall or something similar you receive damage equal to 1d6 per 1" of KB. Further down that page (on the right column) it ignores this rule and says that you receive damage equal to the wall's DEF+Body in d6. Which is true or do you use both? The example on the page describes only the damage from the second rule. What am I missing? Thanks, Roy.
  2. Hi, If an already stunned character receives enough damage to be stunned again, in a segment prior to his stun recovery phase, does he need to spend two of his next phases recovering? Thanks, Roy.
  3. Several sample powers across the 5th ed. book are described as two powers Linked togother using the Linked Limitation. Yet, several powers, which to my reason should have the Linked limitation as well (such as the Power Draining Cuffs on p.145) are instead described as one power plus the second power. I figured you might use "plus" when both powers can be used individually - but in the case of the Power Draining Cuffs I'm pretty sure you can't use the Drain power without first cuffing the person -- right? Most likely I missed this ruling in the book. Thanks in advance. Roy.
  4. Well, obviously, we didn't make a judjement at all since I'm still posting here. We just started with HERO, are loving it, and were curious. That's all. That's why I turned the question to you guys. And you came through. 12 Israeli super-heros you say - that's comforting. Of course, since I don't have the book, you can all just be conning me so I wouldn't blow the cover of your anti-semitic scheme. Just kidding just kidding Thanks a lot for the answers. And for all the trouble. Roy.
  5. I don't have the Champions book. No matter. Just wondered why there wasn't an Israeli super-hero, say Suicide-Bombs Dodjer or something. A bunch of my Israeli friends wanted to boycot HERO because of it -- they are all real touchy about subjects like this here, and most of them think rightly so (because of all the anti-semitism in the world and such).
  6. I don't want to start a political discussion I'll say it again: I DON'T WANT TO START A POLITICAL DISCUSSION! BUT, I was going through the CU Supers downlaodable pdf and came across a Palestinian super-hero called the Liberator. What the f@%^ with the Palestinian super-hero Liberator?! Liberating from what exactly? The Israeli opression?! This strikes me as VERY odd, not to say somewhat prejudiced. Where is the Israeli super-hero? Palestine has never been declared a country you know. Thank god I'm not very political and not offended by such triflings, but someone should set it straight.
  7. Thank you Thank you Thank you! It sure is reassuring to know I can count on you guys for "technical support". I really did forget a few things, as you pointed out, like the "Constant", "NND" & "Personal Immunity" advantages. All in all, for a first character (with a single power) I think he came out alright at the end. It was sure fun making him. I still have some difficulties, though. Like the "attack" roll. Or the lack of it. Don't worry! I have much more confidence now I am sure I will fathom it eventually. Thanks again, Roy.
  8. One of my would-be players is going to play a mutated Opera-singer who has this "Stun Song". This power should do the following: When the character is singing his Stun Song (this high pitched stunning sound), all beings in a radius area of effect around him are stunned (struck by stun only damage) and flashed (cannot hear) as long as he concentrates on singing. Here is how I figured this out: Stun Song: Energy Blast 2d6 (vs. ED), STUN Only (+0), Area Of Effect (8" Radius; +1 3/4) (27 Active Points); Incantations, Requires Incantations throughout (-1/2), No Range (-1/2), No Knockback (-1/4), Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4) Total cost: 11 Flash 2d6 (Hearing Group), Area Of Effect (8" Radius; +2) (18 Active Points); Linked to Stun Song (-1/2), Total cost: 12 I'm pretty sure I made some rule mistakes.. the rules still confuse me. Does a linked power has to take all the limitations of the primary power? Or are they automatically transferred to it? What about advantages? How do you roll for the attack of the Stun Song? do you need to develop a power skill? or are ECV + CSLs enough? As you see I'm pretty confused. Please help
