  1. Re: Fastest man alive In the Flash Reborn series they just started the Flash proved that he is the fastest when he told Superman that he let him win some of the charity events, then took off like Superman was standing still.
  2. Re: Teen Hero Names Most of my players tend to go with names that their character will be willing to use as an adult, not just as a teen hero. Mostly because they don't mind keeping the name recognition that they gained as a teen. There is the occassional player who wants to name their character something 'kewl', and later they tend to pay for it later when they're an adult hero named the 'Poo Man'.
  3. Re: Who would be the Super Villians of your area? In my campaign based in Cleveland, OH these are the current villains of note: Nate "Nathaniel" LeDoux: Imagine a freelance reporter who just happens to be there every time your hero messes up, snaps a picture when you're in a comprimising position, gets a picture of you as you change from your secret to heroic ID, etc. And there's really nothing you can do about it... Katharine Jacobs: Katie really isn't evil, the creatures she summons on accident are though. Katie's mutant ability is Summon with no conscious control. When she sees/reads about something that her brain thinks is 'cool' or 'scary' it creates it, much to the chagrin of the local heroes. So far the heroes haven't found her (they've found tons of her creations) and they'll be really surprised to find out she's a 10 year old. The Anti-Heroes: Teen angst at its worst. Unlike most villains in the area, this band of miscreants commit crimes because they're bored (or 'just because'). The good thing is that they're all low point villains (Teen Champion level) but the bad thing is that the players seem to run into them at the worst times (on a date, all alone, etc.). But the worst, most evil villains in my game's area are: The League of Super Evil: Not because their plans are evil (although the attempt to put anchovies on every pizza in Cleveland was bad), it is mostly their 'red herring' factor.
  4. Re: HERO looking for an adventure "Sharper than a Serpent's Tooth" is an adventure and there used to be quite a few older Champions adventures made by Iron Crown Enterprise (the old publisher of Hero/Champions).
  5. Re: people with powers I tend to use the term "people with powers" to describe NPCs may possess a power without knowing that they have one. A few examples are: A reporter with Luck, he always seems to get the pictures he needs or wants (often they're pictures of a superhuman's secret ID). An EMT who has Armor to simulate her "moved out of the way at just the right time to avoid injury".
  6. Re: Foxbat and... The last time I used Foxbat I had him team up with a psionic mastermind. She was using him as cover for her crimes, and usually had him thinking that their targets were his idea...
  7. Re: WWYCD: "Dear Superhero" (Warning: Ugly situation) Why not just move the oppressed people to the 'virgin world'? There they could be free from their oppressors and lead happy lives as they farm/fish.
  8. Re: WWYCD: "Dear Superhero" (Warning: Ugly situation) My players would want to jump in with powers blazing, and probably would since they hardly ever listen to the NPCs. Three of the NPCs would would definitely tell them not to go without a clear cut plan. Lifeline: (Healer and ex-UN Global Guard member) She would be against the plan due to the fluid nature of African territorial politics. Rescue: (FEMA type heroine with minimal offense) Rescue would love to help, but she's more geared towards disaster relief than fighting an army. Team Liason: (No powers but super Presence) He would warn the characters that although they are "Morally obligated" they do not want to create an international incident. If the players did take the violent option, they would end up facing both the UN team and a few African heroes, once they start mucking with the government. Only because they wouldn't think about the fact that although that government is bad (okay, really bad) they may be the only thing keeping the citizens from even worse neighbors (tribal politics can be really evil). The NPCs would advocate a long term plan that would replace the government in a bloodless coup, with the new government prepared to take total power once the coup is over. Or just 'release' Mindblast from prison and have him modify the government's politics.
  9. Re: Defending the Earth: Giant Asteroid Team America: (PC Team) They would probably look at each other (while being herded onto a ship to go and intercept the asteroid) and unanimously nominate Invincible Array to go in all their places... "He can do it, he's said a million times 'There's nothing I can't kill/destroy.'... Let him go..." Danger Man: Cry... Alot... Quark: Would fly up there and find out the limits to his tactile telekinesis... Ultra: She would try to help Quark, but I doubt their combined might would be enough... Avatar: Would turn the page in his newspaper, take a sip of coffee, place the asteroid into the atmosphere of it's senders, and continue contemplating buying stock... There are perks to being the storyteller's deus ex...
  10. Re: The Worst character in comics Good thing this isn't a poll... I think Cable would be running unopposed... BTW: That's my pick too... Never cared for Cable, or what Liefield did to comics...

  15. Re: That Autograph Isn't Mine! Had this happen to a fellow player's character, a power armor type, in one issue (series of game sessions like a comic book issue)... We finally cornered the doppelganger at a comic convention only to find that it was a trap... Needless to say the fight led to a master villain who was trying to smear our team's reputation... Now days when we run into this situation we have a specialist that we sic on them...

  18. Re: Loved at home hated by the world. Here's another stipulation: How powerful is the U.N. in your campaign... In my campaign the U.N. is about as powerful as it is in real life... As in most major powers really don't care what the U.N. declares or resolves, since most resolutions don't pass that the big five don't want passed (if they do pass, the big five only give them "lip service")...

  23. Re: Loved at home hated by the world. For most of my characters it would be a frame job... Usually my characters, and players in my campaigns, are on US super teams so there would be almost no chance of them being in another country... If they were in another country it would probably be during a time of extreme crisis where the other nation asked for US support, in which case they would be causing alot of "flak" for themselves by suddenly saying " killed of civilians! We want to bring him up on charges!" They would probably cause themselves more grief than they caused the character...
