  1. Just out of curiosity, is there a file or book that lists every power, advantage, limitation, adder, etc. in the various books as well as where to find them? I keep finding references to such things (usually advantage and limitations) and I have no idea where to find the definition for them Thank you
  2. I remember reading a science fiction series where the protagonist can use his telekinesis through a closed circuit TV system. That got me thinking, how would I build a mental power like telepathy through such a system? The complication lies in the fact that telepathy uses LOS and LOS can't act that way. The only way I could think of to do this is a Range Modifier limitation with a No Range Modifier advantage. However, Range advantages and limitations aren't suppose to be used on a single power. While I know you can always override that, I was wondering if there is a more 'rules friendly' method Thanks
  3. Re: FTL Combat My question was inspired by the game "Star Fleet Battles" which a a board games of starship combat at warp speeds. In this game, combat speed can be anywhere from 1c to 32c. My intention was to imitate this if possible. MistWing SilverTail
  4. Does anyone have any house rules for faster-than-light combat? Using the rules in the game, it would either be ineffective or excessively expensive. Both FTL and Mega-Scale impose limitations that make combat ineffective and not using these makes the cost expensive. So, I was hoping someone had some house rules to do this. Thanks MistWing SilverTail
  5. I was reading though one of the 'Powers' books (either V5 or V6, don't recall) and I came across a Killing Attack power defined at 'Teleporting organs out of your target' and I thought of a variant. The basic idea was that it would be an ‘all or nothing’ Killing Attack, either you kill the target or nothing happens. However, if you don’t kill the target, then the target is Stunned. The basic idea is, imagine someone just tried to teleport an organ out of your body and failed… but you felt it. Failing to teleport the heart might feel like an almost heart attack; the lungs… can’t breath for a second; etc. Anyway, what I was wondering is how would I make a Stunning attack. My immediate thought was to make a second attack with a limitation. The drawbacks to that are; first, I don’t know what the limitation would be; and second, keeping the cost reasonable (I figure the overall cost should be close to a similar Killing Attack but without the ‘all or nothing’ limitation) I would appreciate any suggestions MistWing SilverTail
  6. I have an idea for a power and would appreciate any help in actually making it. Basically, the power generates an energy disk that allows Non-Combat Flight. The disk allows others to jump on and ride along and jump off when they want. The problem is that my character is a Shape Shifter, able to assume a form as small as a mouse to as large as a dragon. And, as I change size, so does the disk, which also affects the number of people who can ride along. I figure I would use Usable On Others, but I have questions about it. How do I alter the number of passengers based on its size? What would be a reasonable number of people per square meter? Being on the disk, the passenger must be within proximity to me. However, none of the supplied catagories is appropriate? So what proximity category would be appropriate? And, any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks MistWing SilverTail
  7. I was watching some old episodes of Lost in Space and it occured to me... would the Jupiter II be a base or a vehicle? Since it's a spaceship, it's obviously a vehicle. However, it spent half of its time on the ground with its engine offline, which would make it a base. Opinions? MistWing SilverTail
  8. According to the cost breakout, it doesn't have Range. However, the description implies that it does Thanks MistWing SilverTail
  9. The cost of making a Psychic Bond is +5 points to bond to 1 person. If you want to have a Bond with more than 1 person, is the cost +5 points per person or is it +5 for x2 Bonds (similar to the way that the rest of Mind Link works) I read in a story (Wizard of Karras) about a character who was actually 6 clones sharing a Bond with each other and I was curious about the cost. Would each clone have to pay +25 points to link to the others, or +20 with the doubling effect? Thanks MistWing SilverTail
  10. When calculating the average damage when duplicates recombine, do I base it on the number of duplicates made or the number of duplicates possible? For example, I can have 4 duplicates. I make 1 duplicate. During combat, both my base character and my duplicate take damage. When I recombine, do I divide the damage sum by 2 (base + 1 duplicate) or by 5 (base + 4 possible duplicates)? Assuming the divisor is based on the number of actual duplicates, is there any particular reason why I couldn't generate all of my duplicates and then recombine so that the divisor is increased? I realize that you can't normally duplicate and recombine so that the damage averaging partially heals you. But that assumes that there are no duplicates already existing. Thanks MistWing SilverTail
  11. A quick question: Are there any significant changes to the skills from the 5th edition to the 6th edition? I have the Ultimate Skills book and I was wondering how much of the book is changed, if its changed at all. Thanks MistWing SilverTail
  12. Re: Hunted Power Level Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, neither of us even thought about Social Complication... it never occured to us. She's decided to go that route.
  13. This concerns the Hunter complication. Would you allow an 'Appearance Frequency' of 'Rare' for a cost of -5 points? The idea came from an old 'Star Trek/Superhero' game we had. My character was from a race that hated another race (Race because Race B felt they had the Divine Right to enslave my race and did everything they could to accomplish that. So, every member of my race had both a Psychological complication (Hate Race and a Hunted (Hunted by Race . However, Race B only rarely showed up in the game... much less than an Infrequent frequency is suppose to be. So, I was curious if an even smaller Appearance Frequency would be generally acceptable MistWing SilverTail
  14. One part of the Hunted complication is 'Capabilities'. In general, is a large group of normal people considered Less Powerful, As Powerful, or More Powerful than a Superhero PC? One of the characters in my group is a Healer and she wants to take a Hunted where normal people constantly want her to heal them. We can't decide how capable we should make the Hunted. On the one hand, no individual person is as powerful as the PC. On the other hand, there are a lot of them (We all agree that the group has Extensive Non-Combat Influence) Thanks MistWing SilverTail
  15. I am a bit uncertain about the interaction of AVAD and Damage Reduction and would appreciate some clarification. From my understanding, the following is valid: I have Damage Reduction (50%, Resistant, ED) and 10 points of Mental Defense. I am attacked by a Killing Attack, AVAD (Mental Defense) So, I subtract 10 point from the attack due to the Mental Defense. I then divide the remaining damage by half for the Damage Reduction (Assuming the base Killing Attack was an ED attack) Is this correct? If not, how is Damage Reduction applied to AVAD attacks? Thanks MistWing SilverTail
