  1. Re: LET'S HACK: The Turakian Age I hear people complain about the Hero timeline, but I honestly don't see why it's such an issue. It's way too easy to ignore when it gets in the way of enjoyment. I personally wouldn't want to run Alien Wars with the assumption that superheros used to exist and now don't, because it doesn't make sense to me in the context of the Alien Wars. At the same time, it's fine that Alien Wars the somewhat near future for Champions, and the past for Galactic Champions. So when I run either flavor of Champions, Alien Wars is part of the timeline...when I run Alien Wars, Champions is not part of the timeline. It's such a non-issue, that I'm almost embarrassed to have spent so much time composing this post...I really don't understand.
  2. Re: "Neat" Pictures The Fiend Folio had some fairly cool monsters, but there was a lot of WTF in there too.
  3. Re: World War Two Campaign Unless you have some Superman level hero who can come in and defeat the Axis by himself, I don't see how a WWII supers game in theater would diminish the sacrifice of the actual soldiers any more than movies like Where Eagles Dare, The Dirty Dozen, or Saving Private Ryan.
  4. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Eep Op Ork Ah-Ah Maybe, by Carly Rae Jetson
  5. Re: Fantasy worlds you had to "rework" years later once you've grown up and knew bett It should be pretty dang awesome by the time we get up that old-gamer's-home campaign we keep talking about on the boards...
  6. Re: Order of the Stick I suppose the females are possible too, but technically, the demons that sex up women in their sleep are called incubi. And I'm not sure I want to see a palindromedary try it with a palindromedary...
  7. Re: Order of the Stick Given the nature of a succubus, I think it's safe to say she's been with most of the evil male characters she's known in the strip. And I don't think Nale, as a guy who's seeing a succubus, is unaware of it.
  8. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore This is why I like hard rolls for sandwiches. I can't convince my wife that soft bread doesn't go well with wet condiments.
  9. Re: "Neat" Pictures I might go get some of those. I better hit that streets a-running, try to beat the masses....
  10. Re: "Neat" Pictures See the glow? That must be what was in the case in Pulp Fiction...
  11. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Corned beef hash can be a little bland. A drop or two of hot sauce peps it up without becoming spicy hot. Even my pepper-averse kids put a drop or so in their hash.
  12. Re: Jokes Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity...two weeks from everywhere.
  13. Re: What Non-Fiction Book have you just finished? It was a near run thing. The British were busy fighting France at the time, and weren't all that worried about a bunch of colonial yahoos.
  14. Re: Jokes He wouldn't mind drinking from a canopic jar, though.
  15. Re: "Neat" Pictures Huh...I wonder if those other seemingly random collections of letters are words drawn from some obscure source...
  16. Re: "Neat" Pictures Well, the Oompa Loompas were specifically taken in by Willy Wonka because they were too weak to make it on their own, IIRC. The Munchkins were mostly too terrorized by the witch to be worth much in a fight...the Lollipop Guild would go down swinging, but I think there's just too much PTSD in Munchkinland...the Guild doesn't have the numbers to stand. This one goes to the Ewoks.
  17. Re: Using DEX instead of STR for precision attacks. Personally, I would give him some PSLs to offset the difficulty of hitting a specific hit location. That's all a "precision attack" is, hitting the vital spots rather than pounding at all the parts that don't hurt so easily.
  18. Re: "Neat" Pictures That kinda makes sense...
  19. Re: Space plane spends 15 months in orbit, mission still secret. Nefarious!
  20. Re: Cryptic Concept Art for Nighthawk The hood is toned down enough that it'll be hard to call him "Captain Duck Hat" and get it to stick with the CO-but-not-Hero-Games types.
  21. Re: Space plane spends 15 months in orbit, mission still secret. What would they have to say to make you think it's not nefarious? I'm not sure you're contrary enough that you'd think it wasn't if they said it was...
  22. Re: Civilisation 3991 A.D. or the 1700 Year War Post-apoc nuclear Vikings. Awesome.
