  1. Re: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!! in the CU The DOSPA assigned Denise Dumont to the team as liaison. Christine Hunter is Homeland Security's liaison. Beth Davies is the PRIMUS liaison. Denise is a bureaucrat. She does, howevrer, carry a gun and knows how to use it. Beth is the same character Shelley presented in the Digital Hero issue 6 PRIMUS Update. Christine went to college to get a degree in acting. In one play, she was assigned to portray a fashionably-dressed woman in 1902 Boston. Knowing she'd have to wear gloves all the time while playing her character, Christine asked her mother, a fashion model turned hair stylist who owns her own salon, for help. After her mother taught her how to do everyday tasks with gloves on, Beth decided to stay gloved while preparing for the role. By the time the play was over, Beth discovered that she liked wearing gloves and decided to stay gloved at all times. After college, she was recruted by the CIA and became a field agent specializing in black-bag jobs. She later transferred to Homeland Security, where she was assigned to the Avengers as the agency's liaison.
  2. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU The last four teamn mates of the Slayers, more secrets and other playfulness. Cathy Thompsan and Gail West are the same age as the other high school students. Their mothers, Connie and Katie respectfully, are gym teachers at the high school. All four are expert archers and swordswomen. Their secret is this. All four are Amazons, decendants of the tribe once led by Gabrielle. In the ancient days, 200 Amazons stood against 2 Roman legions while their sisters fled into the outside world. The Amazons died, as did half the Romans. There is, of course, the "popular" group, which is led by a brain-dead fashion slave. The vampire hunters may tease them in school, but they'll hurt anyone who attacks the airheads, or anyone else.
  3. Re: A Look at my Version of the CU Actually, I'm using a version of the Knights of Pendragon in my campaign universe. Why? Simple. In my opinion, they're very cool.
  4. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal Before I forget, in my version, The Gathering is the Ragnarock (sp), the final battle between good and evil. The good side will include good Immortals and Slayers and be led by a group of men and women who are either the reincarnates or actual members of the greatest group of heroes ever, The Knights of the Order of the Table Round. The evil side will include evil Immortals, demons, and vampires. The Wolf, Ram, and Hart will lead them.
  5. Re: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!! in the CU As the weeks passed, The Avengers began to take shape. Warder, a mage, who was about to build her fastness, agreed to join and offered the fastness itself as a headquarters. Guardian agreed, if he could help design the building. Warder had no problem with that. The Harmon Foundation agreed to sponsor the team. Harmon Industries electronics engineer Mariko Nakamura, a formner Olympic gymnast who raced cars for fun, came aboard as the team's technical manager. After accepting, she told Jim that she was also a ninja and would be willing to join the team as a reserve member. He agreed. Jim was then informed that the DOSPA, Department of Homeland Security and PRIMUS would all be sending liaisons. Of the three, the DOSPA liaison would be the team's official U.S. government liaison. The others would just be assisting.
  6. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal The Immortals aren't the player characters. They're just a type of metahuman that the PCs wolud've heard of once the Hunters exposed the secret worldwide.
  7. Wealthy playboy James Harmon woke up in a cold sweat. The dream had been a wild one. He had been standing before an alien presence that told him he'd been chosen to wear a special battlesuit of red and gold nanotech armor that he could summon by act of will, and he summoned it. As he shook himself awake, his live-in housekeepers, Catherine and Wendy Brooks, entered with breakfast. "Sit, ladies," Jim said. Once they did, he told them about the dream. "Maybe it wasn't a dream," Wendy said. "Yesterday afternoon, you told me about having some kind of metal ball pop in your face at the lake shore." "Interesting thought. I'll try and summon the armor." He did. Now, I'll try and vanish it again." He did that, too. "Now what? How can I use this to help people?" "You're a superhero," Wendy replied. "Right, Mother?" Catherine looked at her daughter, smiled, and replied, "Yes." "Give me a few minutes to get myself together, then we'll talk about it, over breakfast, in the kitchen." "Wery good, Sir," Catherine said. "I'll gather these things and we'll wait you there." They hammered out the basics. A new superhero team, the Avengers, would be formed to protect the world. The Harmon Foundation would fund it. Guardian, Jim's heroic identity, would be its first leader. Wendy would clean the house and be in charge of the support staff.
  8. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU The Pendragon Power is properly called The Champion Spirit of Pendragon. Three British heroes, the Knights of Pendragon, also carry this spirit. They are Francesca Lexley Grace, Joey Chapman and Kate McClellan. The power gives them, and Willow, heightened abilities, powers and senses. The Knights have mystical armored battlesuits that appear around them with a mental command and high-tech two-person vehicles that can travel on land or jump, through ley space, to other realities. Francesca Lexley Grace, who prefers to be addressed as Grace, carries the power of Aleta, the Queen of the Misty Isles and one of Arthur's three female knights. When in combat, she's always in armor. Joey Chapman, the current Union Jack, carries Sir Lancelot's power. He fights either in armor or his superhero costume. Kate McClellan, Astra TV's fearless and much loved reporter, carries Queen Guinevere's power. She prefers street clothes and has been receltly seen in the black leather jumpsuit, boots and gloves she bought before doing a five-part report on England's motorcycle culture. Her armor has a medieval look, It consists of scale mail covered by a black tabard and hooded cape. A shield and brown boots, sword belt, and gloves complete the costume. On the tabard and shield are Queen Guinevere's coat of arms. Since the main foes of the Knights of Pendragon are the Bane, the servents of a demon known as the Red Lord, it is possible that the Green Knight either is associated with or is one of The Powers That Be.
  9. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU One team mate of the three Slayers is Willow Caplan, a redheaded Jewish computer hacker and eighth-generation Guardian Witch. Her mother, Susan, a seventh -generation Guardian Witch, teaches chemistry at the school. Both help out with research and magic. Like the rest, Willow has secrets. King Arthur existed. Thanks to a magical being known as the Green Knight, various individuals were given what is called the Pendragon Power to fight evil. One of these was Arthur's sister, Morgaine, who succeeded Vivianne as High Priestess of Avalon and Lady of the Lake. Willow is Morgiaine's reincarnate and the current wielder of her Pendragon Power. More to come.
  10. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal Good points. Taking a page from another posting on this thread, the Vorlons and Shadows created the Immortals for their own purposes. They decided that thje prize would be mortality, but they didn't tell the Immortals that. As far as the Hunters go, they could easily have been reformed, or just driven underground. One other thought: Tying this to my Buffy thread and superhero campaign universe, the Game is all a sham. The Powers That Be created the Immortals as their champions and the demonic senior partners of Wolfram and Hart created the game to rob humanity of its champions and either created or recreated the Hunters.
  11. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU I forgot to mension that Midori's hair falls to the center of her back. Ronna Taylor is the second of the campaign city's three Slayers. She's an African-American girl whose braided, black hair, touches her jaw line. Her mother, Ann, is the school nurse and her father, John, is the school librarian and the team's Watcher. Secrets abound in the Taylor family. Ann is a Jedi Knight who fled the Empire 20-years ago in the Starchild, a Ghtrok Industries Class 720 Light Freighter. Inside it are her Incom T-65B X-Wing Space Superiority fighter and R2-Z4, or Zephyr, her astromech droid. Keeping with Jedi tradition, Ann trained Ronna. Both Ann and Ronna have lightsabers. Ann's has a green blade while Ronna's has a red blade. The third Slayer is Elena Valdez, a Hispanic girl whose black hair caresses her shoulders. Since her father, Michael, and mother, Gloria, a United States Senator, didn't want her in the political spotlight, Gloria's parents are raising her. As a side note, Henry Hayes, the President of the United States, has proof that now Vice President Kinsey has been involved in criminal activity and plans to turn it over to the Attorney General and House Judiciary Committee. If Kinsey is forced from office, President Hayes plans to name Gloria Valdez Vice President.
  12. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU
  13. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal As you know, I had the secret of Immortals exposed to the world and I finally figured out how to do it. The renagade Watchers group known as the Hunters send computer disks with information to the police and television stations, exposing the Immortals and claiming that they're a threat to the world. One last thing, the prise is simple. You become mortal and can have children.
  14. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU This idea came to me yesterday. The campaign city has three Slayers. All are 17-year old high school seniors (and cheerleaders). Unknown to everyonebut those who guard it, there's a Hellmouth under the stage of the high school's auditorium. Midiri Yamashiro is one of the three Slayers. A Japanese-American woman from a family that was the result of the merger of a ninja clan into a samurai family in the early 1900s, she was a skilled ninja before becoming a Slayer. She is the current bearer of the clan's honor swords. Her katana, Amaterasu's Mirror, rests across her back while her short sword, Amaterasu's Tears, sits on her left hip. Both swords are invisible and intangable until called for. Also, according to clan legend, the swords are blessed. What Midori doesn't know is this: Amaterasu's Mirror, like Buffy's scythe, is, in D&D terms, a +5 Holy Avenger. Midori's mother, Fujiko, owns a dojo in the campaign city and trains the Slayers and their team mates in combat. Fujiko's sister, Kimiko, owns a gymnastics school that's next to Fujiko's dojo and lets her sister's students work out there. Midori's father, Hikaru, works for the county crime lab. More Slayers and team mates to follow.
  15. Re: The Avengers in the CU I know it has worked for the Avengers, but I'm not too keen on it. I can see it now. From their headquarters in Millennium City, the Avengers, Iron Man, Warder, and their associates, protect the world from evil. What do you say?"
  16. Re: The Avengers in the CU Running with the idea from Ghost Who Walks, Tony contacts Warder, a lady mage he'd heard about and explained the situation to her. He agreed to tell his story, under a truth spell, to her and PRIMUS agents. Once the agents leave, Tony and Warder talk. The new Avengers begin to take shape.
  17. Re: PRIMUS superhero teams I was thinking about this again and came up with an interesting idea. The heroes, who are based at PRIMUS Pittsburgh, in Alleghny Center, were PRIMUS agents before becoming superheroes. Guardian is an Iron Guard agent testing a prototype armor, possibly for a new class of PRIMUS agent. Warder is a Wizard agent with mystical powers. (The Wizard agents are Intelligence agents with mystical skills and/or powers.) Spirit Cat is an Intelligence agent with training in ninjitsu and some mystical abilities. Backing them up is a team of ten assault and Intelligence agents and a few civilian staffers. Intelligence agent Beth Davies leads the team and reports to Silver Avenger Terry Kestler.
  18. Re: A Bat-ty Campaign Idea What we're doing is, of course, Dark Champions: The Animated Series, Dark Champions motivations with Four-Color attitudes. Batgirl's first recruit is Longbow, an archer with trick arrows and his own motorcycle. Everyone that goes out has a utility belt. It's the one from Dark Champions and Gadgets and Gear with adjustments, as needed, by each hero. Although the belt itself is a multipower, there's also a 50-point gadget VPP to represent mission-specific gear on the shelf and personal equipment. (Batgirl's throwing blades are razor-edged batarangs. Longbow has an extra multipower of trick arrows. Mariko's throwing blades are shuriken and her gadget VPP contains ninja weapons. Christine's gadget VPP has burglar tools.) Although Batgirl doesn't want the heroes to use guns, she keeps a locked safe of weapons in the lab for weapons testing. She also accepts the fact that Christine has a government-issure 9mm Beretta 92F and, when she goes out, Mariko carries a CO2 pistol and her gloves have retractable claws that act like the Nekode, a ninja weapon and climbing device.
  19. This thread is a tye-in to A Bat-ty Campaign Idea. In it, quirks, one point disadvantages are used. Christine is the DOSPA liaison assigned to Batgirl and her team. A former CIA operative, specializing in black-bag jobs, she transferred to the DOSPA and was assigned to the liaison pool after an enemy power accused the CIA of stealing top-secret data from that country and a disgruntled former agency executive spilled the beans and identified the agent as Shadowdancer, Christine's CIA code name. He died soon after, when a drunk driver ran him over. While in college, Christine acted in plays. While preparing to portray a fashionably-dressed woman in a play set in 1903 Boston, she learned to do everyday tasks with gloves on and decided to wear gloves all the time. Is her always wearing gloves a 1-point quirk or a psyc lim? What package deal is best for Christine, cat burglar, cinematic spy, or field agent? Would the CIA let her let her keep her burglar tools or would she have had to get them from contacts she'd made while working for the CIA?
  20. Re: A Bat-ty Campaign Idea A few short items. Shortly after he publicly exposed the truth about Shadowdancer, the disgruntled former agency executive was struck down by a hit and run driver. When the driver was caught three minutes later, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.12, way above the legal limit of 0.08. The clothing in the gymnasium and stores can be used either for disguises or dress up. April, Christine and Mariko spent a day trying on clothes and taking photographs with Mariko's digital camera. Everything was cleaned as needed.
  21. Re: A Bat-ty Campaign Idea Square six has a crematory on the east side and five buildings on its west side. From north to south, the buildings are: Shirly's Beauty Salon, West Jewlers, Bridal City, Thompson Midical Supplies and The Oasis. Bridal City sells wedding and evening gowns, gloves, shoes, and other accessories. The Oasis sells Islamic clothing. Square seven has a gravel path winding through a garden of cacti. Square eight is a 12-unit, two story apartment building. Each unit has its own garage and entry. (The garages and four of thge units are on the first floor. The other units are on the second floor.) Square nine can be best described as a statue and sculpture garden. The Washington Monument is in the center. Surrounding it are trees, rows of hedges, flower beds, fountains, statues and sculpture. All the clothing from the closets, outerware, footware, jewelry, purses and other such items were removed and placed, on racks and shelving, in the community center gymnasium. Everything else was cremated with the wearer.
  22. Re: A Bat-ty Campaign Idea More stuff I forgot about square two. The community center is on the north side of the block, the church is on the south side, the rectory is on the east side the apartment building is on the west side, and the parking lot is in the center. It can be entered or exited from the east or west. Onward. Square four has a theatre on its west side and. from north to south, Office Depot, the East End Medical Clinic and Style Uniform Company on the east side. There are two bus shelters in front of the uniform store. One is the gate to the Batcave. The other is the gate to Lady Arcane's house. The theatre is equipped for movies, small stage shows and lectures. Style Uniform Company, like uniform stores of the 1970s, doesn't sale scrubs. Instead, it sales white and colored dresses and pantsuits, white shoes and stockings, white caps and other items men and women in uniform needed then. Square five has a Japanese garden, complete with a pond, tea house, bridges and restrooms. The only door is on the west side. More to come. Hopefully, some of it will be from you.
  23. Re: A Bat-ty Campaign Idea Back to square two for a bit. The church has a robing room. Against one wall are lockers that'll hold school books or purses and a rack of handbells. Next to a second wall is a coat rack with choir robes for the choir and albs for the lay readers and alter servers. Above them are plastic boxes. The ones above the robes have white gloves and the ones above the albs have cinctures. (When using a handbell, gloves are worn to keep oils, dirt and fingerprints off the bells.) The last wall has a full-length mirror and a cork board with schedules and the artical from the church newsletter about Jennifer. According to the board in the community center, belly dancing classes were held several different times on the day the people died. Two things were left out of the description of the block, a parking lot for church and community center vehicles and a building with six, two-bedroom apartments.
  24. Re: A Bat-ty Campaign Idea A political note first. Kinsey has been arrained in federal court and denied bail. Now he's in jail. The House Judiciary Committee has asked the full House for permission to conduct an impeachment inquiry. They said "Yes." Quite a bit of evidence has been taken from Kinsey's house. The Judiciary Committee and the federal DA are sharing it. Kinsey's in trouble. Onto the gateway world. It's a three by three cluster of squares, each square 1200-feet per side. The odd squares contain gardens. The even ones contain buildings. Although April and Mariko traveled through it daily to get from Lady Arcane's house to the Batcave, it wasn't really explored until Cristine and Mariko explored it. Here's what they found. Square one is a formal rose garden. Square two has a church, rectory and community center. A blood drive has going on in the church. Due to her four years in her high school choir, Jennifer, the church custodian is an honorary member of the church choir and has her own robes. Although the Musical Director hopes Jennifer will change her mind, she claims that she has too much to do to become a full time choir member. Square three is an English hedge maze. The rest of the squares are coming soon. Comment is appriciated.
