My secretary is amused by the ring tone on my cell phone. She's gotten good at timing when to call me just as I'm entering someone's office for an audit. lol

I really wish people would start their threads without invitations to flame. Especially when they will act all surprised and innocent when the flames come.
 
Proofread your posts before you hit the "Submit" button, people. It's not a difficult concept!
 
Think how you would react if the side you're on was substituted for the side you're slamming. A lot of the strife here would go away if people would take a moment to do this simple thing instead of racing to get posts out as fast as they can. It's not a race. There's not a prize for posting a reply first.
 
Hell, if you can post rationally you generally come off looking better and getting more respect.

There are definitely posters to these boards whom I would call a liar. But not Kara. Nothing in her history remotely calls for such treatment.

I just got off the scale and I'm at 270 pounds, even. When I started keeping track, with the intention of losing, I was at 311 pounds and a couple of ounces. That was back in September.
 
Looks like the old fashioned way of weight loss (eating better and less, exercising more) works just as well as "intentionally torture myself by not giving my body what it needs to function correctly" diets like Atkins.

I have exactly 192 points of reputation. Trebuchet is above me but is not yet 3 green boxes. It has been like this for three days now. How much this sucks to be so close... and yet so far away. I hope his rep isn't exactly 199 because that would blow.

There has been a staggering amount of change in the past couple of weeks. It's been disconcerting to me as well, and while it's not necessarily bad it's going to take a long time to get used to. I'm still having a hard time visually figuring out who everybody is with the new avatars (that's one reason I kept Blue Beetle, even if it's a different picture)

So, there I was, having a rotten morning at work after being out since last Tuesday. No surprise, of course. Things had been going downhill since the moment I'd walked in the door. People were being very careful of me, since it was pretty obvious that I was in no mood for any crap.
 
Then I get this call right before lunch. It's Kara's boss. She's calling to apologize for Kara's recent overtime and the fact that she was sending Kara home tonight with a lot of new procedures that needed to be learned. She then proceeded to tell me how much having Kara in the office meant to her and everyone else. Both on a professional level for her ability, willingness to help out and her work ethic, and on a personal level for her always upbeat manner, the smile she always had on her face and the way she dealt with everyone. The admiration was obvious in her voice and I don't think she's that good an actress.
 
I'll be damned if I didn't have a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

Could one of you pinheads negatively review this post for me? I want to see what happens. I couldn't bear to do it to anyone else just out of curiosity, so I offer myself up as an experiment. All in the interests of science, of course.
