  6. In Hero 6th Edition does a character get any points for having Characteristic Point Limitations. For example, a standard human has a STR Max of 20, but if there was a character race that had a STR Max of 15, would that character get any points for it.

This sheet has form fields! The lined areas are multi-line text fields that allow for rich text formatting. The printed lines were removed to accommodate the text fields. This is a 3 page character sheet I whipped up for HERO 6th Edition. Here is a summary of the pages; Profile - characteristics, movement, senses, points, perks and talents and finally complications. All skills and powers / equipment. Combat profile - vitals tracking, to-hit chart, defenses, combat values, references and maneuvers. Design goals; I wanted a sheet that was more "newb" friendly. So I tried to include the full names of characteristics with abbreviations. I also wanted it to be easier on ink, hence the various watermarks. I also like my personal info at the top of the first sheet. I feel this approach makes it easier to use. During social or interpersonal scenes, you can have sheet 1 and sheet 2 face up. During combat, you can have sheets 2 and 3 face up. This allows for 2 sheets face up side-by-side depending on the focus of the "scene".

  13. As a rules lawyer in the other games I play, I have such a hard time with character creation when it comes to costing things that the real world normally provides. I still have not wrapped my head around these key concepts. I don't have the Hero System books, but I have CC6, Powers, and one Villains book. My latest headache is in regards to electricity. I have consulted CC6 and read about Electricity. I have looked at the preface to Electrical powers in the Powers book. I've searched this forums for answers, but can't find any with my search terms. So I still don't get it! I am creating a character that can shock, but with the No Range limitation, since he has to touch his target. But electricity also flows through metal, water, and other conductors. Do I *buy* advantages and/or limitations to reflect this natural phenomena, or does the special effect alone justify the character's use of electricity through such mediums? Do I buy different powers (or a power framework) that represents his attack through each kind of medium, like Shock Through Water, or Shock Through Metal? Are the different kinds of conductors considered to be foci? I have spent time enough trying to research this on my own--it was time for a question. And that's another weakness of mine. Instead of being creative and accepting my own answer, I'm always looking to cannon or official resources for answers.
  14. Just a quick note that I have added a few new background templates. These were designed for/from D&D 5e backgrounds, but can be used as is or modified for just about any fantasy setting to add flavor and some easy picks for players who like menu type choices. They also have suggested complications and additional suggested skills, etc. http://www.killershrike.com/FantasyHERO/Contributions/eepjr24/Default.aspx - E
  15. Hi all. Very new to the Hero System, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. I have 5E, 6E and the Kickstarter Fantasy Hero Complete as my current sources of material. Our intent for the system would be a mix of Dark and High Fantasy with a Large mix of elements from many fantasy genres (kind of a frankenstein universe). Thus, I am currently attempting to see how I can convert/create some of our campaign concepts via the system. As my big test, I am trying to model some of the magic systems we want. Some examples are: Blood Magic (may be redundant since most magic works off END?), Divine Magic/Miralces, Furycrafting (based on the Codex alera series), Pact Magic (summoners), Psionics, Rune Magic, Scion Magic (inherited 'powers' based on bloodline), Shamanism, Sorcery (innate themed magic such as born as a Pyromancer or a Reaper), Tattoo Magic, Witchcraft/Hedge Magic, Wizardry (hermetic), etc. Yes we have a wide variety of magic we like to see. None of us are real fans of the "there is only 1 type of magic in the world" settings. So to that end, I've come looking here. I've already come across KillerShrike.com which has given me a much better grasp of how to model magic systems, but one of the concepts I'd really like to create via Hero is an adaptation of the Allomancy style of magic from the Mistborn series (and RPG). I have a few basic ideas on how to go about it using some of the examples from the killershrike.com site (such as limiting all allomancy by charges), but I was wondering if anyone had done such a system package already (before reinventing the wheel) or if any of you Hero masters had some good suggestions on how to go about building such a system? As a noob, I feel like I'm floundering quite a bit looking at all the possible ways to build a system (such as the difference between Variable Power Pool vs. Multi-Power vs. Power Construct vs. Compound Power, etc.). I really don't know where to start to (A) make the system work like allomancy is described while staying in the Hero confines and ( making it so that the point costs remain manageable especially in allowing different levels of allomancy such as a misting (only mastery over 1 metal) or mistborn (all metals). I appreciate and thank everyone in advance for any feedback! For those that are unaware of allomancy / allomancers (mistings and mistborn): * http://mistborn.wikia.com/wiki/Allomancy * http://coppermind.net/wiki/Allomancy * Mistborn RPG Free Preview PDF (70 pages) can be found here: http://www.crafty-games.com/files/File/Mistborn_Adventure_Game_Preview-Consolidated-v2.pdf PS: I've posted this in both the 6E and the Fantasy Hero threads as I wasn't sure where it would best fit or if it would draw specifically different audiences.
