A new campaign I'm about to start has the evil nation next door relying heavily on skeleton labour, both as menial labour and cannon fodder for the armies of darkness. I haven't really fleshed out the economics. (There's a skeleton/zombie gag in there somewhere.) So I thought I might do so here and get any feedback and suggestions people might have. Kemet (The Black Land) Why yes, I have decided to make the necromantic kingdom fantasy Egypt. Think a wide, terrible desert with one life-giving river flowing through it. There's still plenty of live subjects

I am in the early stages of world building for my next campaign: Heroes of the Multiverse* The conceit is that each player comes from their own reality where they are outnumbered by villains and a pan-dimensional organisation of supermen is allowing heroes from neighbouring worlds to work together. So I thought I would put this out there for feedback. Suggestions welcome but bare in mind that Sean Waters will be one of the players * To be said in a "He-Man Masters of the Universe" style voice.

So, after a very long hiatus, it looks like I might be running a game again. Of course the potential players expressed interest in the one campaign idea that is least developed- a high fantasy/steampunk mashup that I've discovered could accurately be called arcanepunk. What I'm envisioning is a Cold War-esque scenario in which two large nations with disparate worldviews are competing for influence among smaller nations in an attempt to tip the scales of influence in their own favor. The two superpowers are at opposite ends of the high fantasy/steampunk spectrum that is arcanepunk.

I've been reading quite few old posts with various ideas that are starting to gell. Posts on spirit possession for disease, posts on ancient iron both bloom and sky metal, posts on polytheistic clerics , and few about D&Disms. And it hit me something that would tie all these together, a Bronze Age campaign with input from RQ that would be very much not anything like D&D. So I plan to post some ideas here about converting Mythic Egypt (1st edition FH) to 5th Edition. The setting shares a lot features similar to Glorantha so their ideas on handling multiple cults will be usefu

Hello everyone! I guess I should start with a little about myself. I've been gaming a long time. I was going to say I have been gaming for “this many” years but then I saw the number and felt old, very, very, old. Anyway as I've gained experience (no pun intended) I've found that I require more. Not just from the games, but also from the system. This search for more is what led me to HERO (that and I have inherited a lot of HERO books and PDFs.) I have only come to HERO recently but I've come to learn that it's a wonderful system. So, thank you, Hero Games! Enough about me. My goal is to buil
