In 6th Edition rules why would someone want to purchase an All Combat Level? They cost 10 points each and only give you a single bonus that can be used either to OCV or DCV (not both at the same time) while for the same 10 points you can increase the OCV and DCV characteristics both by one (giving you bonus to OCV and DCV at the same time). Now I do understand that in heroic games you can use skill levels for additional purposes, such as increasing the damage if you use 2 of them, but that is not much of a bonus, and in addition in a Champions game you can only use them for OCV and DCV, nothing else. So why use them?

Okay, your previous reply on Trigger interrupts made great sense. If instead of the HKA situation, the character went with a Change Environment to force a dexterity check to not fumble the incantations (thinking more something distracting or interfering like tossing sand in their face, a fake to the head with a weapon or shield, etc). If this kind of ability became more common I can see some casters reacting by staying further away, disfavoring incantations, etc. But if they wanted to try to offset the Dexterity penalties, they could also buy Skill Levels (limited or not) to offset the CE penalties. This might be another of those corner / edge cases you could deal with in the next APG or another supplement. Hi Steve, An issue popped up about skill levels last night during a game. Why are there Skill Levels AND Combat Skill Levels AND Mental Combat Skill Levels? Why not just have the costings and explanation all in one place and not differentiate? I am jut reading some information that says you can use 12pt CSL in Mental combat but there is a section dedicated to explaining that you need separate MCSL under the Combat Skill Levels explanation. Apologies in advance if there is a simple answer. Regards, James
