A tiny breakaway state on a narrow sliver of land between the river Dniester and the Ukrainian boarder, Transnistria’s brief but complex independent history has been marred by war, regional instability, smuggling, and rumored associations with several supervillain teams. A true time capsule, it has kept all of the imagery and much of the ideology of the country to which it once belonged: the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, things are afoot in this unrecognized republic that its Soviet parent would never have approved of.
