  1. Re: Super games

Off the top of my head:

    DC Heroes

    Marvel Super Heroes

    Superworld

    Brave New World

    Underground

    Aberrant

    Godlike

    Villains & Vigilantes

    Sketch

    Stuperpowers

    Super Squadron

    Heroes Unlimited

    Golden Heroes

DC Heroes was re-released without the DC stuff as Blood of Heroes.

Marvel Super Heroes' FASERIP system was reverse engineered Phil Reed as a superhero game toolkit called 4c that he's releasing under the OGL.

There also a DC Universe RPG using WEG's D6 System.

Marvel Comics released a Marvel Universe RPG.

The creator of Villians & Vigilantes released a 3rd edition of it under the title Living Legends.

Golden Heroes was re-released was Squadron UK.

BTRC's EABA system will do supers.

Oh yeah, there's a Superbabes RPG (based on AC Comics' Femforce).

Plus there are numerous homebrew superhero game systems posted on various websites.

  2. Re: Elementals et al Sourcebooks - Writers Needed

SirKerry' date=' do you have the rights to the information that was used in the Justice Machine Sourcebook done by Palladium and the FemForce RPG done by somebody who I can't remember right now? Are those available to be used as reference?[/quote']

A present no. I'm trying to acquire the rights to the Palladium Justice Machine stuff (as it does a good job of covering the early Georwell period), but so far no luck. The Superbabes RPG (Femforce) was published by a Tri-City Games based in Florida which I have no contact info for at all.

  3. Re: Justice Machine Sourcebook?

Hey' date=' Sir Kerry, if you're still taking suggestions how about [b']Scout[/b] and Southern Knights? (Now I'm just being greedy.)

Oh wow, I'd totally forgotten about Scout. Southern Knights is apparently now owed by Heroic Publishing which I thought was associated with Hero Games since they also have all of the various Champions comic titles?

    Justice Machine-check

    Elementals-check

    Hero Alliance-check

THUNDER Agents-CHECK! (please tell me you have a line on Wally Wood art, or are you just going to have to settle for George Perez' stuff)

If I can get the THUNDER Agents license it will include the use of Wally Wood's art if at all possible.

  4. Re: Justice Machine Sourcebook?

I'd grab it instantly. Though I'd have to ask: which version? With all the ballyhoo' date=' I could never keep them straight...[/quote']

The sourcebook will cover the entire run - Noble, Texas, Comico, Innovation, and Millenium.

  5. Re: Elementals Sourcebook?

Damn. No way am I going to be able to buy up the individual issues for the later stories. I thought that was a little too cheap for a book as thick as it would have to be... oh well. SirKerry, maybe you could pass along my fervent hope that the rest see print in TPB form to the current rights holder?

    Thanks for the info, proditor.

It's already in the works, I think they're slated to start appearing in early 2008.

  6. Re: Defunct Comic Publishers and Licenced Sourcebooks

Greetings Herphiles' date=' it appeares that [b']SirKerry[/b] of Hommlet is really interested in Defunct Comics as Licenced Hero Sourcebooks. Here are some Resources SirKerry.

For myself I always wanted to see the Ultraverse, the Valiant Universe, and the Sigilverse as Sourcebooks. Either Fan Products or Licenced.

Thanks for the resources, QM. Yeah, those would be nice, but I suspect they'd have to be fan products as the rights holders are likely to want more for the licenses then they're worth. I actually came across a copy of the Ultraverse Writer's Bible last night - interesting background stuff.

  7. Re: Hero Alliance Sourcebook?

Probably off-thread' date=' but what goes into getting the rights to something like this?[/quote']

Time and money, mostly. The hardest part is generally finding the actual rights holder. Then is just a matter of coming up with an license agreement both parties can agree upon.

  8. Re: Hero Alliance Sourcebook?

The same people who did Hero Alliance also did another series that only lasted two issues. The basic idea was that the Mob had gotten organized and assassinated every hero around. The heads of the Eastern and Western mobs kept trophy rooms of the uniforms, as the bodies were stripped and dumped in dumpsters so no martyr cults could form. The story followed a small group of heroes who stole the costumes back and operated as all of their assassinated fellow heroes.

    That would be Power Factor.

  9. Re: Hero Alliance Sourcebook?

Sheesh. What's next? DNAgents? Malibuverse? There's only so many of us 35-45 year old comic guys out there. :D

THUNDER Agents, possible. DNAgents, maybe. Malibuverse, unlikely as Marvel owns it and I ain't got pockets that deep.

  10. Re: Elementals Sourcebook?

And, if you're serious, you are officially King of Nailing Down Elusive Rights. Thought the only thing keeping Willingham from returning to this was that the rights were snarled in the Comico Carwreck.

Unfortunately Willingham has nothing to do with this (other then being the original creator) and from what I've little interest in revisiting Elementals. I was actually able to track down the current rights holder and get a verbal agreement with over the phone and should have a actual signed one in a couple of weeks.

  11. Re: Hero Alliance Sourcebook?

Shame Bart Sears would be out of your price range for some interior art. Maybe a cover? Didn't Ron Lim do some work for this series? If you end up with reproduction rights to the art from the series, this'll be an awfully pretty book.

The license includes reproduction rights for all of the published artwork including the Bart Sears stuff.

  12. Re: Hero Alliance Sourcebook?

I saw your thread on the Justice Machine sourcebook. I'm thinking that maybe you could to both of these in the same book. I'm not sure that either of these groups would have enough material to fill a book on their own.

Now I'm going to have to go dig out my JM and Alliance issues and reread them. :D

They'll be seperate books (Justice Machine actually already had a 128 pager I think done for it as a Heroes Unlimited sourcebook years ago).

There's plenty of material for a good size sourcebook especially with included adventures.

  13. Re: Justice Machine Sourcebook?

Sure!' date=' but I'd be "price sensitive"...I'd buy it in the 12 to 20 dollar range...more than that and a sale seems very unlikely...[/quote']

It would be a PDF release so towards the lower end of the price spectrum.
