In one of the many Champions books was a picture of both Dr. Destroyer and Professor Muerte, plotting together. I think both were looking at a map or something on a table (but it's been a long time so don't quote me). I just can't seem to find it. Can anyone help me with this picture?

(Inspired by the Villain Theme Team thread) Just for fun, I thought we might collectively create a few villain theme teams. All of the members have to match the theme, whether in name, powers, or appearance. A bit of obscurity (as in Blue Raja from the Mystery Men movie) is acceptable as long as the poster explains how the character actually relates to the team's theme. Descriptions of each character (appearance, personality, powers, etc.) can be as brief or as detailed as the poster wishes. Full writeups aren't necessary. Here's the guidelines: Someone provides a theme and a number of members, and then posters that follow can provide a character or two…

Hey all, I'm working with Heroic Publishing on a revision and update to TPP Champion Organizations #2 - League of Champions. I will update and correct errors in the original material, and add new members, and new art. This title will be available for Print-On-Demand through DriveThruRPG. There will be other collaborations in the future as well.

Besides holding an extra drink, what can you do with an extra limb. The rules state explicitly that you don’t get an extra attack. So, I suppose you could hold more items, but the rules don’t say that you don’t have to spend actions stowing and reading equipment, so it’s a non issue. Grond for example has two extra limbs. The only use I can find for them is holding an opponent while pummeling them. I’m guessing that you could maintain a grab while executing a an attack. I’m not convinced this strategy is worth 20 points. You could add 4d6 to an attack with those 20 points. Putting them into Strength would give Grond a Str of 110! The game designer…

Back again with my favorite hypothetical: the True Cosmic Gem (Equipment Guide, p.173). On the surface it can do just about anything (up to a point, and not all at once), but it's an Obvious Focus. So what's that mean regarding something like invisibility, or even camoflague? Or even passive sensory powers (e.g., Danger Sense)? Is it gonna always glow unless I totally deactivate it? Can Concealment cover it up? Will it break Stealth?

Point and Damage wise what do you think would Absolutely be the Nastiest Attack Power that you could come up with? One that for a point to point radius would be overwhelmingly nasty. Points don't matter but try to go the lowest you can go and still have it overwhelming. Champions version doesn't matter but make sure you do list which one you are using.

TLTR: can I use this system for a miniature wargame only? Can I just strip away all the "gobbldeegook" from a pre-made (Marvel and DC) character writeup and use it as is? I've been looking for a rule set for a strictly miniatures tactical wargame. No role playing, no non-combat skill checks, nothing...just pure combat. Miniatures on the table, roll to hit, roll for damage. I'm a miniature wargamer at heart. I play the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game, various World War 2 miniature games and Star Wars Legion. I'm all about minis and terrain! I REALLY like the combat in Champions/Heroes, but I'm struggling with a little bit of "analysis paraly…

In the regular Champions Universe, the Superhuman Age began in 1938 due to an occult ritual, the start date paralleling comic book timelines. However, what if a version of that ritual happened today or maybe just a year or two ago? Who could be responsible for it? Why might they attempt it? Did they even expect it to work? My thinking was that all the elements of the Champions Universe were still there, a near parallel to our own world, except the superhuman elements were either totally absent or so low key as to be X-Files events. Then, the Superhuman Age starts NOW. Does VIPER exist as a terrorist organization, perhaps using regular g…

While your superhero is on patrol, you spot a floating midget dressed kinda like you. He (or she, or it, depending on the hero) is the hero's BIGGEST FAN, and can warp really to his whims (but of course not necessary in the hero's favor. It's power may malfunction, he may misinterpret things, or may even help the villains to make it more challenging to the hero ) What would your character do?

Way back in the mists of time I was running Champions and one of my source books had a group of young villains. I'm pretty sure it was a champions book, but I'm not positive. If I remember correctly one of the characters was named "Skate Kate" and another character's powers revolved around marbles. Does anyone remember these characters and where they came from?

Coastal City is in either Virginia or Maryland, on its own bay that feeds either Chesapeake Bay or the Intracoastal Wayerway. It's also more than 30-miles from Washington, D.C. If it's in Virginia, its bishop is the Bishop of Richmond and it might be within the Washington, D.C. media market.

This week's award goes to Chris, for: "In my experience, Neanderthals *always* attack aliens." This replaces the previous title-holder, from Jason: "I made my INT roll, and I've decided to do it anyway." dw

Hey all. I'm talking with Henry Vogel about a possible Southern Knights sourcebook. Was just wondering what you thought of the idea and what you would like to see.

Does anyone utilize Effectiveness Rating (or anything else) to balance their campaigns? Note: Effectiveness Rating (ER) was originally created by Michael Dodd of Cleveland Tennessee and developed for HERO System 5th Edition with his permission. The Effectiveness Rating is a tool used by Gamemasters and players for the evaluation of a character’s combat ability. It is a formula based on the mathematical mechanics behind the HERO System. Used alongside campaign house rules, it is a system for ensuring game balance without limiting initial character conception. I first encountered Effectiveness Rating in an article; "The Effectiveness Rating" by Robert Pennington t…

Several of the 4e characters I created in Creatures of the Night: Horror Enemies were revised for later editions of Champions, ultimately making it to the Champions Villains trilogy. Most of them, however, did not. Tiger has expressed interest in updating selected characters for his Forgotten Enemies series (and used Lady Twilight with my blessing), but -- since I am still here -- I might like to do this myself. I've noodled around with Creatures of the Night Resurrected for the last several months, writing up 5e/CC versions of several characters. Before I go further, though, I have some important questions: Does anybody want this? Did you ever use them, back …

All I have so far is it started out as a college town on the Northern Neck, on Chesapeake Bay slightly north of the Rappahaneck River and grew from there.

Here is for a discussion on how to work Science in a Champions game, as obviously Real Science normally does not apply. Also, can anyone guess what movie the Title of this Topic came from?

Theaters showing Wicked find themselves surrounded by an unpassable magic barrier. This has been created by a powerful witch in protest with unflattering depictions of witches in the past and us doing this in protest. To make maters worse, this has also attracted the attention of the Dragon Queen, who has entered this dimension and summoned her servants to fly over movie theaters showing the movie. What would your character do?

It is the middle of summer and there are reports of a festive dressed man who magically decerates areas in Christmas decorations wherever he goes. It makes it hard to tell if valuable items are stolen or simply transformed into Christmas decorations. (GM decides if the Christmas Creep is actually a thief or a cursed individual forced to change his environment.) What would your character do?

This is a notion that I’ve been pondering today for my Champions First Wave setting concept and wanted some feedback on to help me expand on it. In Hero, characters start off at a set point amount and then increase in abilities through gaining XPs. Well, what if those XPs were somehow part of the setting in a meta way? Heroes and villains get their abilities, go out in public and get noticed, have their clashes with each other, and they gain experience. So what if those experience points represent a sort of draw upon the gestalt, like receiving an increasing trickle of power from an unconscious belief or faith in that superhuman character?…

Im looking for the following characters (Preferably in 6E, but any edition will do - somewhere around 600-650 AP but, again, any power level will be helpful): Guardian (James Hudson) Puck (Eugene Judd) Aurora (Jeanne-Marie Beaubier) Northstar (Jean-Paul Beaubier) Sasquatch (Walter Langkowski) Snowbird (Narya) Shaman (Dr. Michael Twoyoungmen) Box (Roger Bochs) Can anyone help?

I'm working on a character whose powers go unchecked without a device. How would you build this? Is this No Conscious Control with a buyout bought as a Focus? Is it a Susceptibility with a Power Effect? Or something else entirely?

I had an idea spring into my brain... Just imagine a Drill Instructor during World War 2, that liked to push boots to their breaking points... And then, along came a boot that seemed to have no limits... No matter what the DI asked him to do, he did it, without fuss and with aplomb to spare... What would a character need to make it through boot camp with a perfect score in everything...? His Strength is already set at 60, with 1/2 End cost, because of the incident with the Tank... The Drill Instructor, growing more frustrated with his failed attempts to break him, ordered the character to pick up a tank... And he promptly did... Which attracted attention in a BIG …
