Another Variable Advantage Question

If you have an EB with the No Range limitation and it also has +1/2 Variable Advantage (+1) can the advantage be set to Ranged?

 

I checked the FAQ and did a search so I hope I'm not repeating a question.

No. Unless the GM permits otherwise, an Advantage obtained via Variable Advantage cannot be used to counteract or overcome a Limitation taken on that same power.
