  1. Re: Partial Growth Awesome, hopefully I'll get this character figured out soon enough.... Maybe I should've started with some simpler....
  2. Re: Old Palladium player wanting to start with the HERO SYSTEM Thanks for the responses, everything is extremely useful.
  3. Re: Partial Growth Roleplaying reasons mostly. The character who will own this artifact is going to be a scrawny, nerdy kid. The idea is, when he decides to use this item, he'll transform into this "better" version of himself while he's using it. I've been asking questions about this same item in another thread, but for different purposes, if you'd like to check it out. http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73196
  4. Re: Partial Growth That will make the character a foot taller?? Can you explain please?
  5. Let's say I have a character who is 5 feet tall and wanna make them 6 feet tall with a simple enchanted item. If I wasn't interested in any of the extra bonuses given by Growth, couldn't I just take Growth for like 3 or 4 points to achieve this? Or is there another way to do this? My ultimate goal is to make an item that turns the character into an ideal version of herself.... better looking, a little taller, a little more charismatic.
  6. Re: Old Palladium player wanting to start with the HERO SYSTEM I've been looking at some of those and they are helping for the most part. But I wish I could find a list of all the OCC's from HU recreated for HERO. The regular Super Powered characters aren't all that hard to convert, but more specifically the Enchanted Weapon OCC is giving me a hard time. I'll give the description from the book.... I think I understand how to give a weapon powers and such. But the problem im having is how to make the weapon give powers to the character and more specifically, how to "link" the weapon to the character so that other characters couldnt use the weapon. It may be better to just start a new topic at this point, but I may as well start here Any ideas with this would be swell and I would be happy to elaborate more on the specifics of what my grand vision with this PC will be.
  7. Re: Old Palladium player wanting to start with the HERO SYSTEM Wow, thanks everyone for the help and the great links!! I'm certainly getting ready to dive headlong into this system, I've enjoyed reading the Sidekick and I am eager for the 6th edition to come so I can buy it. As soon as I finish my first character conversion, I'll definitely post it here. And by the way, this is where I got my name....
  8. Re: Old Palladium player wanting to start with the HERO SYSTEM Groovy, I'm buying that Sidekick book now. $5.25 for the PDF is a steal, seems like the ticket
  9. Re: Old Palladium player wanting to start with the HERO SYSTEM Wow, thanks for the quick response. Thanks for the heads up on the 6th edition as well. So it appears that in order to run a full game, all I would need is the HERO System book. Is that correct?
  10. Hello and like the subject says, I'm a old Palladium Heroes Unlimited player and gm and I would like to start playing with the HERO System. I've heard a lot of good things about it and I think its time for a change. The problem I'm having is there are a TON of books out for HERO and I have no idea which one i should start with. I believe the Hero System 5th Edition Revised is the one I need, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
