Re: mobile Destructive barrier with other conditions I guess that will have to be it - I'll have it set up as a multipower on its own that can do all that and remain active for any of those purposes. Its going to cut into the points much more than I assumed at first... oh well Thanks for the input

Re: mobile Destructive barrier with other conditions well, I think I've hashed out the defensive portion of it, I just need the mobile field of death for it to work at a minimum of what its supposed to. I didn't pull it from another system, I've made it for the hero system based on a story that never left the manga called Psyren. The main character of the story finds himself in another world where the pollution in the air gives him psychic abilities which are divided into three categories: Burst or damaging type abilities, Rise or enhancement type abilities, and Trance or mental capabilities. The weird thing about his burst power is that without the proper level of control, it will develop a "mind" of its own and grow and destroy indiscriminately. Eventually after he gains control of it, he essentially has a guided bullet type ability as a base attack with that power. As he gains even more ability to control the ability, he makes it spin in his hand so that it looks like an elliptically shaped blade. Even later on, he makes rings of these bullets that spin around him fast enough to deflect some attacks and severely discourage hand to hand combat. This is the barrier I'm trying to make for 6th edition play. Its a total defense based on an offensive ability, so I guess thats why I'm having the trouble getting it to work the way I want it.
  4. well, I'm a newbie here, so the search function doesn't work for me. Sorry if this brings up an old topic. I'm trying to build a barrier that consists of damaging orbs that surround the character and aid his defensive capabilities at the same time. I understand that I can make the barrier a combined power with a resistant defense, but the problem is the barrier. As it is, it doesn't act like a barrier except for the defense that it will give to anyone within a certain distance from the caster... Here's what I have down so far (just ignore the linked spell for the purpose of this discussion): Melchsee's Barrier: Barrier 4 PD/6 ED/6 Power Defense, 0 BODY (up to 2m long, 2m tall, and 1/2m thick), Usable By Other (+0), Recipient must remain close to Grantor, Grantor pays the END whenever the power is used, Grantor controls the power totally (29 Active Points); No Range (-1/2), Linked (Melchsee's Void; Lesser Power can only be used when character uses greater Power at full value; -1/2), Costs END To Maintain (Half END Cost; -1/4), Restricted Shape (Englobes caster only; -1/4), Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4) the problem seems to be that it does no damage, but it is a constant effect of damage on touch so long as it is in effect, so barrier is actually the wrong way to go about it... help please?
