  2. Okay, given the fact that STOP powers (and presumably Advantages) are not allowed, this means that you can't use Usable on Others, making this concept quite a bit harder. There are come cool effects you can come up with though (even with as willful a team as we are). First off, we can assume all these powers will have Incantations in the form of issuing orders. If you are silenced, nobody can benefit from your orders.

     

    Battlefield Awareness: Change Environment affecting CV (you tell the others the best place to attack from)

    Rally Morale: Aid to STUN and END (reinforcing their will to fight)

    Inspiring Speech: Aid to PRE (make them far less likely to hesitate when attacking a big bad)

    Coordinate Attack: (This one is a little sketchy but I can't think of another good way to do it). Overall Combat Levels, Area Affect (Radius), Selective

     

    Looking forward to seeing what you do with the character!

    For the general thread followers, this group has been together for about 30 years playing different games, and there are quirks about the players that lend itself very well to *someone* stepping into a leadership role, so I don't think it will be much of an issue getting the players on board...the mechanics of the character is pretty intriguing though.

     

     

  3. I recently had an interesting situation arise. My group was fighting a villain, who found he was losing. As a result, he used an area attack on a bunch of civilians, giving the group the option of continuing to attack him, or stop to rescue the dying normals. The group (who all have Code vs. Killing) ignored the dying normals to stop the villain. Their argument was that stopping him would prevent him from doing much worse, even if those normals died. Since then I have been reading through the examples in the official material and they all say Code vs. Killing means you will not kill or allow others to kill. I always envisioned a 20 point Code vs. Killing to mean "I will not kill, allow others to kill, or through inaction allow others to be killed". Am I wrong in this interpretation?

  4. Okay I have had an interesting situation arise and I'm honestly a little stumped. My players had a situation arise where the main villain they were fighting was losing and knew it. He unleashed an area attack on a group of normals with the belief that the group would stop to help the dying civilians rather than try to capture him. Most of the team has Code vs. Killing. The group as a whole ignored the civilians to take down the villain, explaining that stopping to save the innocents would allow him to escape and cause far more deaths. Now, my take on Code vs. Killing has always been different inasmuch as I thought a Common, Total (20 point) version meant "I will not kill, or through inaction allow someone to be killed." Since then I've been looking through the rules and all the examples *seem* to indicate that the group was right...Code vs. Killing in any form means "I won't kill, and I won't allow others to kill." But as far as I can see it does not encompass "I will not allow people to die through inaction".

     

    Is this correct?

  5. So I'm running a Genocide/Purity type subplot and I want to introduce Purifier. The only catch is I can't for the life of me recall what source book he was in. I'm looking helplessly at a GIANT stack of sourcebooks and hoping someone can help cut my search down. Any help?
