  1. Where does the +5 pts for a second piece of equipment rule come from? I've seen it called a house rule, but I also see mention of it in the FAQ under Multi-Power Attacks. I honestly cannot imagine how, in anything but the most basic and simple case, this can be balanced. Especially when used with limitations such as Charges or Independent. Am I missing something? It just seems to scream to be abused. -Zanthis
  2. Re: Frozen Feet: Entangle? Doesn't Set Effect: Feet Only(-1) already include that OAF would still be usable? It didn't sound like I would be able to take another limitation for that. Further, Feet Only isn't quite right since only feet are affected if they are touching the ground. That is actually even more limiting, although not too much more in my mind. In my attempt I called it even considering the ability to affects hands and backsides should she ever use the power on a fallen foe. -Zanthis
  3. I am designing a power for my wife whom I am introducing to the wonderful world of RPGs. I've chosen the Hero System since I really like it (played 4th) and she mainly wants to be a superhero. So I've had her describe her character and I've been building her powers to match her description. I've found this much tricker than expected and could use some help. She would like her character, an ice-based martial artist, to be able to freeze her enemies' feet to the ground, much like if you stick your tongue on a frozen pole it gets stuck. My immediate thought was entangle. Problem: You can break out of entangle. More specifically, while I can see a strong enemy being able to rip his feet off the ground even given this power's special effect, I can't see him able to attack his frozen feet to free himself. Worse, he could even attack this entangle with a gun. That really doesn't make sense for the power. My second though was Clinging, Usable Against Others (although, since I've only recently picked up 5th, and only the Sidekick, I'm not positive that advantage still exists). Basically, I'm stuck. Here's what I did with entangle, which gets pretty close. I'm just not sure its the best way to go about it. 3d6 Entangle: Takes No Damage From Attacks (All Attacks Except Fire/Heat; +1/2), Set Effect (Only libs touching ground; -1), Susceptible Uncommon (-2 BODY/turn above freezing; -1/4) Real Cost: 20 Active Points: 45 Endurance: 4 TND:All Attacks Except Fire/Heat just made sense based on the special effect and I didn't feel it qualified for Limited Attacks. Libs touching ground allows hands and such should a target be crawling, which I'm certain my wife will try one of these days so I want that to be an options. The susceptibility just made sense too, although I kinda wonder what a normal with Str 10 does if he gets hit by a 4d6 DEF 4 Entangle and left alone. All suggestions, comments and other feedback appreciated. Thanks! -Zanthis
