  1. Re: How many points does a person have?

The only problem I've ever had RUNNING the game is your "Brick" character will sometimes get into "SMASH" mode and feels that they can take on the world because it is infact a game.

Another issue is depending on how many people you have, will be the person who ends up being the undeling, this person is normally the person who's the INT kinda character. One of your players will FEEL weak because they can't help al the time.

It really just boils down to your players. You have nice players, you have great characters.

  2. Re: How many points does a person have?

I myself have run a few other these games myself.

What I ended up doing was having each player pick two Characteristics in which THEY themselves felt they were exceptional in.

My buddie Daine a 6'7" 200ib friend decided his two major characteristics were going to be Con and Body.

As for point cost 25 does seem like a bit much to me. I eneded up putting in 25 total into the two characteristics and I let everyone take the skills they have IRL; Languages, Computer Skills, ect.

In the end everyone worked out fine. I normally run a PT or Power Test to see how the characters work, run, strengths, weaknesses. This way when you get into the real deal compaign you'll know what to expect as will the players will have an idea on what they're "real" characters are capable of.

As for Disads, I had every person fill out some flaws they have, Phobias, social flaws, ect. This went into their disads. I didn't directly play off everyone they put on there, but I did enough.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Re: To Create a Sin

Thank you EVERYONE for helping me out.

I went with the advice of Richard and reformed Envy. Made him "Form" into the other characters but he's a slightly less powerful version. With this I turned Greed into the more "I take what I want" mentality.

Thanks everyone for helping me out!

  4. Hey there everyone.

My final "chapter" of the campaign I've been running for the past three years is coming up soon and I'm in some serious need of some help.

The main villians are a group of pure evil, sent from hell its self to destroy all of man kind, and bring souls the the "darker side" of life.

This groups name; The Deadly Seven.

Each villian has traits based off the sins in which they were created.

    For example:

~The character Lust doesn't have a lot of STR but her COM and Ego are high. Her combat style is to confuse the enemy into thinking what they see before them is someone they lust after, an NPC or even another player, while the rest of the Deadly Seven (D7) attack full force.

~Envy steals characteristics from the enemys that he finds most useful. "What I want, I Take" So large ammounts of Drains and such. Makes himself strong while the enemy suffers.

    My problem is this.

After days and days of trying to come up with something, I've yet to come up with a character design for the sin Greed. Seeing how Greed is mostly to do with greed in the form of money, or even the trickey of authority, its hard to make a character around it. (Wikipedia didn't help much either)

    I'm completely stumped.

What kind of powers would you throw on a character like that? I'm intrested in knowing what you all think and HOPEFULLY some of you can help me get the ball rolling.

Any and all help would be so awesome.

    ~Thanks

  5. Re: What Have You Watched Recently?

I just finished up a couple of movies this weekened.

First off; Battle Royale. I'm not sure how many people have even heard of this movie, but I totally reccomend it. Good luck finding it. (Youtube has it in parts)

I also watched Casino Royale. I loved it. Despite how different the new bond is, I really liked him. Grand.

Then the new Rocky. Wasn't bad, but yeah. Check it out.

Also watched the Cowboy Bebop movie.

    So i veg'd all weekend.

  6. Hi there; I have a character that I'm using right now and her "main powers" are that she throws really long needles with pinpoint accuracy.

It came to my attention though that if I fight any robots or something metallic (Which is likely) there's no way I can harm them simply becuse my needles are made to harm humans.

So I figured I'd make some needles that are "laced" with Nano-Tech that shuts down a robot from the inside. (Like in the movie I-Robot, when Will Smith injects the computer with the nano tech in the needle)

    My question:

Where do I even begin to make something like that?

Any and all help would be awesome.

    Thanks

  7. Re: What the....

Sounds like a partially-limited power to me.

One thing I would like to know is what do you/he mean by "maintains" the attack? EB is (as has been mentioned by MitchellS) an instant power, so by definition it can't be maintained. If the implication is that if he simpmly pays more END and the attack automatically hits and does more damage, you guys might want to look up "Continuous" advantage. For the purpose of this thread, I will assume that the "maintainance" in this case is simply "if I attack him next phase", thus requiring another Attack Roll.

Another thing I would like to be clear on is how "powerful" can the attack become? Is it only supposed to go to 8d6, or is it supposed to then go to 11d5, then 14d6, etc. I don't know what the damage caps are in this campaign (if any). I'll assume that it is only suppose to go to 11d6. You should get an idea of the progression I am proposing.

Here is my proposed power build:

    Death Beam (Knockout Mode)

    1) Take that!: EB 5d6 (25 Active Points)

    2) And That!: EB 3d6 (15 Active Points); Only if opponent was hit by "Take That!" the previous Phase (-1/2) (10 Real Points)

    3) And That Too!: EB 3d6 (15 Active Points); Only if opponent was hit by both "Take That!" & "And That" the previous Phase (-3/4) (8 Real Points)

    Total Powers Cost: 43 Points

(Note: I will not add "Only in Hero ID", any Focus, or other limitation, but if you want them you would have them to each "level" of power).

If this doesn't fit the concept, post again. I might take another shot at it. :D

Mother of christ.... Thats exactuall it. Sorry I fogot to clarify, I wasn't letting it go past 11d6 anyways becuase anything more is like, not even cool. Matains means he doesn't attack that turn, sort of like running away or simply charging up.

Thanks for the perfect power ^_^

  8. I have a player who controls the land around her (Deadly Rose). What I'm looking for is a way to summon a HUGE Venus Fly Trap that's fairly strong with about a 3 hex streatching with a killing attack but no movement from where its at so, it is powerful, just has no mobility.

My question is: Do I make another seperate character then put a summon power on Deadly Rose, or can I just make the Fly Trap on Deadly Rose?

  9. Re: What the....

One way to buy the power is to buy the maximum effect an then put a limitation on the power that they character only gets x amount per phase. Example:

5d6 eb plus +9d6 eb, only 3d6 per phase delayed: -1

Also, energy blast is an instant power, so it should not have the instant limitation. Also, it's not generally recommended to have only in hero id and a focus limtiation.

Alright, I'll tell him this. Thanks a lot ^_^

  10. So I'm starting up my Hero Designer and a thing notice comes up showing a notice of a power my brother created on one of his charaters saying how Visable and Focus can't be used together. I explain this to him and he understands, but when I look over the power, this is what comes up

Death Beam (Knockout Mode): Energy Blast 5d6, Gets a 3d6 of power every phase he maintanes it (+1/2) (37 Active Points); Instant (-1/2), OIF (-1/2), Only In Heroic Identity (-1/4)

The "gets 3d6" is a custom adder, I'm not fimiliar with those.

Now that "Gets 3d6 if he maintains it" is deffinately not done right, the problem is, I can't figure out how to do that because I've never thought of something like this. From what he's telling me he wants to be able to power the hell out of this attack but it takes time and he can't attack in those phases he has. IE: Phase 3 its a 5d6, but if he doesn't attack it becomes a 8d6 on phase 6

Is this possable by just messing with the custom adder, or a seprate power all together? Any help = Uber Loved!

  11. Re: Ever have one of those moments when...

I refuse to believe you exist. Imposter!

BEN IS THE HIGHLANDER!! And some day... I will cut off his head and absorb all of his power in the form of convulsions and multiple lightning strikes. Ha ha ha ha... ah HA hahahahahahaha!

Fine, believe what you must, or don't. Maybe I'm just in your head. JUST A LIE IN YOUR HEAD!!!! *WOOOO hand gestures*

(highlander always reminds me of an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force)

  12. Re: Ever have one of those moments when...

This reminds me of X-mas last year while Ben was down here. My brother plays as some ninja guy whos blind and for some reason he (my brother) decided to just kill off my character after this Ben, Russ (my other uncle) and myself were so pissed off that we just packed up. So so lame that people can just play along and have to become rebels >_<

  13. Re: Health Stealing Attack?

We finally came to the conclusion over IM that all he really needs is the Transfer and having it apply to PD' date=' otherwise he'd be doing "double damage", once with the KA and again with the Transfer, and that's nothte effect he was looking for. I think he decided to buy the fade/return rate up to 5 points per minute, giving him a good 5 Turns before having to deal with the fading.[/quote']

Yes and then their health comes back and and then you just suck it back up, totally wicked sweet!
