  1. So I am trying to build a shapechanger who can assume any human form. Sort of a Mystique type character. Human mimicry-sight, hearing, smell/taste, touch senses, imitation, cellular, instant. This would allow infiltration of any installation. But in Champions powers it has Voice Manipulation-hearing, imitate, voice only. This is to allow perfect imitation of any voice. My question is does the hearing in the human mimicry cover the voice manipulation power? I need to know if Human Mimicry covers it or do I need to buy a separate voice manipulation, The idea is to be able to defeat any dna, voice or appearance, including finger print scanning to allow the character to access just about any installation with sufficient study and preparation. Thanks for your assistance in advance. I assume that acting and mimicry skills would be needed to act like the person being impersonated. Body posture, mannerisms, etc.
  2. That is what I needed. Thanks for the great replies.
  3. Quick question. Is the control cost total available based on the active cost or the real cost? Looking at the utility belt above left me wondering(for magic) if the total I could have active was the active cost or the real cost listed. All the slots in the utility belt were 30 active points(30 point VPP). Does that mean I could use one at a time or if I had 2 slots with 15 points I could use two? Or is the control cost the total of the real cost? If I had 3 slots with 10 points of "real" cost could I have all of them active
  4. Yes, the question was for champions. I was looking at a magic character using a staff(possible OAF) with some powers(blast, etc.) plus a VPP(for emergencies) and a more normal multipower with a few martial arts techniques. I wanted to make sure I understood the VPP as examples of slots for the VPP are few and far between. Thanks to everyone, even the person in the wrong forum, lol.
  5. Can someone explain VPP's for me? 60 point pool, 60 point control cost. Any one or combination of powers of 60 points total? Changeable with time. So if I am going against someone with cold powers or mental powers I can construct powers to counter them within the limits of the power pool, correct? You are paying to be able to craft your powers to counter expected opponents powers or take advantage of their weaknesses? Looking at doing a combat mage type character. Most of the ones in the villain books have VPP's but no real examples of what one might actually do. Am I understanding it correctly? Thanks.
  6. Found this review of the product here. Missing or no HDC file for the "Griffon" character. Descent artwork for most characters some merely ok. Good character write ups with background details. Overall a bit too derivative of other works - but gives good options for melding into your own campaign. Unfortunately this doesn't tell me much. Can anyone give me even a table of contents so I have an idea what is in this book? I am guessing come character write ups but what does it have? A history of the run up to the conflict? Organizations and equipment of the humans?
  7. I see the 85 page book for 6th edition in the store. I am interested in this "Mutant Conflict". Does anyone have it? Could I get a review of what it has so I can decide if I want it.
  8. Follow up question. The Villains Hero Designer files for $14-15 each for Villains 1-3, is the only difference whether or not I am willing to input the 300 villains into the program and save them for future use? I will bite the bullet to save $44 plus if all I need to do is input 300 villains into the program.
  9. Thanks for the quick replies. The bundle I was looking at had Magical Adversaries, Demon, Mystic World and Ultimate Mystic. For $25 it looks like a great deal. So, it looks like Hero Designer, Viper and the Bundle plus Powers and Villains 3 to round out my pick ups for the near future. Any other source books look good for the future? Favorites or just ones that fill in the world or help out would be nice.
  10. Just got back into this after a long time. Haven't played since 1st edition. Right now I have Champions Complete, 5th edition Universe, with Villains 1 and 2 on the way. I plan on getting Villains 3 shortly. My question is what benefit would I get from Champions Powers and how good is the Hero designer software? Also considering getting the Magic bundle and Viper/UNTIL books from 5th edition, good source material? Thanks, Dan
