  1. Re: New Writeup Game! Fix the "Weaklings"

Multiple Man's ability converts the energy of an attack (same as Bishop, I believe?) into a new duplicate - or rather, 'call' a duplicate into being: Since he has a limited number of them, it is probable that they are 'stored' somewhere. From there a lot of things could be done:

    - Call duplicates at a distance. Simple, but allows for all sorts of power stunts. Teleportation, quick long-range attacks, barricades, etc.

    - Invulnerability (He can keep converting energy into duplicates). I think this has been used in-comic.

    - Call upon other things: Alternate universe Multiple Men, stronger, faster or more intelligent duplicates, duplicates of other people, Beings from Beyond, etc.

  2. Re: Weak Supers who just needed better writers

Time has to move differently in any comics universe ... otherwise' date=' Peter Parker would be the geriatric Spider Man and the the Golden Age Green Lantern would have to make his ring into an emerald walker ;)[/quote']

Alan Scott is immortal, silly. Of the powerup revision cake, he got the largest slice.

  3. Re: A Bathroom

Well, a food pantry is bought with adding LS: Doesn't Need Food/Drink to the base, so it seems only logical that bedrooms and bathrooms are bought with Doesn't Need Sleep and Doesn't Need to Excrete.

Optionally, I'd suggest making a skill called 'Comfort' (use Survival if you're against toolkitting), and use the table for skills to determine the 'comfiness' of the base:

8-: Familiarity - Strictly the essential. Frat house.

11-: Competent - Qualifies as 'nice'. Family house.

12- or 13-: Skilled - Comfortable with some benefits. Maybe nice beds, or a maid that cleans up the heroes' messes, a nice fireplace?

14- or 15-: Very Skilled - Many benefits. Top-star hotel level.

16- or 17-: Highly Skilled - One of the very best places in the world. Presidential suite, CEO's beach house.

18- or 19-: Somethingly Skilled - One of the greatest places in history. Royal palaces.

20- or Greater: XXXTREMELY SKILLED - Realm of gods, myths, supergeniuses, etc. Unseen servants do everything for you. EVERYTHING. Even that. Yes, that.

  4. Re: Lack of Power coverage

The people I play with will only let you use uniform as a DF if you can't take it off.

Time manipulation in most forms is icky. No matter how many times they do writeups for it.

No Life Support against falling damage, or other various types of environmental damage humans suffer but other beings may be less vulnerable to. No easy way to have Flight be unaffected by gravity (that pesky halving of the speed when going up)

I'd also like a 'Omnipotence' power so I can be thorough when statting fellows like Dr. Manhattan and the Endless :)

  5. How would you do these two powers?

    1) Detect the use of an object by sight or touch. Like, discovering the odd object the party found is a ray gun that can be shot by the use of the little knob on the top, only by looking at it.

    2) 'McGyver sense' - Detecting how several objects can come together to accomplish something useful, how junk can be assembled into machines, etc. Yes, it's strange.

  6. For a Wand of Wonder effect, I'd make a Multipower with the No Conscious Control limitation at -1 level.

Heavy time travel stuff (time freezing, freezing other people and such) are hard to do. Combining two people (a la Dragonball Z or Digimon) is hard. Wild Cards 'jumper' effect is hard.

Multi-use powers like the Mage the Ascension spheres are hard to do (Except for the 'VPP with limitations' way, or the Power skill that always makes me feel like a cheater)

  7. Ultimate Super Animal - For you that always wanted to play the Terrific Whatsit, Krypto and whoever was that chimp.

Stereotyped Foreign Heroes International - Champions travels around the world and discovers many heroes, all of them having powers derived from legends and stereotypes of their countries.

UNTIL Database of Power Abuses - Over 400 of the sickest power constructs ever made for the system. Powergame like the professionals!

And adaptations of the timeless classics:

    Atlas Shrugged HERO

    Flatland HERO

    Macho Women with Guns HERO

    Creeks & Crawdads HERO

  8. In my group, when you roll a 3 you get to choose between 50% extra DC, automatic Constun or double Knockback.

Also, if you -really- want crit rules on games without crits, just link some power like this to your main power:

Drain 2d6 from STR, (maybe some NND or whatever), Linked (-1/2), Only works when a 3 is rolled on attack (-2)

  9. Also, the stat bonuses Growth gives don't always fit the character's 'Powers From Being Tall' list. Is Galactor, The Eater Of Worlds With A Side Order of Moon, with his 4 kilometers of height, exactly like a normal human except with a 165 STR, 33 BODY and 33 STUN bonus? No, he'll get extra PD, ED, PRE, INT if he wants to use his brain the size of a planet, Area Effect on his STR and so on. The Growth power is more of a 'Gain STR, BODY and STUN with the SFX of being big' power.
