I've been trying to access Black Mask.com, but have not been able to do so. The message I got implied that the DNS could not find the site. Does anybody know what's going on?

Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs
I didn't do that one. Look at the bottom of any character page' date=' if it doesn't say "character sheet created by Michael Surbrook" then it isn't one of mine, but was submitted to me.[/quote']Oh... um, give Max my complements then, if he isn't on the boards (or doesn't read this thread... or something). ;;;;

Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs
I rather large update is planned for either tonight (uhm... fat chance of that) or later tomorrow.Oh, and much thanks for writing up Sephiroth - as he is one of the characters in the Anime Club Manga (albiet with a radically different personality - he's much^4 more of the vain prettyboy).

Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs
Have you visited my website? Not before, but I'm checking it out now, and I'm seeing a lot here that will definitely be of use to me, especially because of the campaign idea I have in mind. (Perhaps a very unique campaign idea, perhaps not).
I might as well go into more detail, as to provide an idea of what I have in mind. I've covered this before in greater detail on my blog, at count_zeroor.livejournal.com. So I'm going to try to give the Short Version.
In High School a friend and I wrote a "manga" for our High School Anime Club. I use quotes there because it wasn't particularly a manga, in that it was never drawn. In fact, I've come to refer to it, affectionatly, as The Anime Club Self-Insertion Crossover From Hell, in that we inserted characters from many series, and many of our friends in the club became protagonists in the story. We wrote two "seasons". The first season had us taking on a certain right-wing fundamentalist evangelical who is (or at least was) on a certain TV program who has well known problems with a certain character on a certain obnoxious childrens' television show who shares a common color with a grape, who was out to destroy anime. No, we didn't even bother changing the guy's name. You wouldn't know who he is anyway (). Season Two had us squaring off against his master, the dark and sinister alien warlord Kylaar Daas, who was, unlike last season's villain, extremely competent. The season ended with us taking his base on the moon, and seizing his Stargate (as in Stargate SG-1-type Stargate), while he got away, setting up next season (which was definitely intended to be the final season)
Well, time has passed (almost 5 years) and my friends and I from the anime club have graduated and scattered across the US. However, now, in my nostalgia, I have begun to develop ideas for the third season, inspired by new anime series I've seen, and my own maturing as a writer. I ripped off a lot on previous seasons. Seriously, if people thought Eragon was derivative, they've got nothing on season 1 & 2. However, I don't have my friends from high school to keep me honest as far as keeping the characters equally Mary Sue, as opposed to one (such as me) getting more Mary Sue than the others. So, I intend to use Hero System to keep me somewhat honest. I intend to use rules, mechanics, and general advice contained in Star Hero, Champions, Dark Champions, and Ninja Hero to assist me in this. (I considered BESM, but it doesn't have enough crunch for what I need).
Alternatively, if it doesn't work out for the original cast, I might have Season 3 be in a similar place with the nonexistent film between "Desperado" and "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" in the "El Mariachi" series, referenced, but kept off screen. Instead, I'd just change the ending somewhat from how I intended to end Season 3, which was a good ending, but killed off Daas in a deliberately final fashion.
But, anyway, enough with my major threadcrapping, back to the music.
(Also, if you see me posting in the Star Hero board asking for advice on how to write up Mecha, Federation and Klingon starships, plus the White Base, Nadescico, and the SDF-1, once I get Star Hero, this is why).

Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs
Very useful. While I'm not sure if I'm going to use any of the NPCs created in the thread, they are giving me ideas about how to use the Hero System (especially as I'm a neophyte).

Re: Religious Serial Killer Idea.
I was going to write this up as a mega-post, but the idea was so obvious to me that I felt sure it's been done before. I'm certainly not going to use it in my current DC game, as it's just too offensive to a few of my best gaming pals.Okay... Look at the Catholic calendar. Full of the dates on which saints were martyred. Our killer finds a pure soul, waits until the Feast of a given martyr and kills them in the fashion that the saint in question died.
Now... I'm sure it's been done, but I couldn't find a source. Clue me in. Is it an original idea, or unintentioned plaigarism?
It sounds original. Keep in mind, though, that the killer will probably be dubbed by the media "The Crucifix Killer", as many of the martyred saints were crucified. It's not until he gets to the saints that were stoned to death or flayed alive that people will figure out that he's the connection with the feast days of the saints, and how they were martyred.

Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs
I'm surprised this one hasn't been posted yet.
Dr. Feelgood
Yeah yeah
Rat-tailed Jimmy he's a second hand hood
Deals out in Hollywood
Got a '65 Chevy, primered flames
Traded for some powdered goods
Jigsaw Jimmy he's runnin' a gang
But I hear he's doin' o.k.
Got a cozy little job through the Mexican mob
Packages the candycaine
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel all right
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
Cops on the corner always ignore
Somebody's getting paid
Jimmy's got it wired, law's for hire
Got it made in the shade
Got a little hideaway, does business all day
But at night he'll always be found
Sellin' sugar to the sweet
People on the street
Call this Jimmy's town
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel all right
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's gonna be your Frankenstein
I've got one thing you'll understand
(Dr. Feelgood)
He's not what you'd call a glamorous man
(Dr. Feelgood)
Got one thing that's easily understood
(Dr. Feelgood)
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
Oh yeah
He'll tell you he's the king
Of these barrio streets
Moving up to shangri-la
Came by his wealth as a matter of luck
Says he never broke no law
Two time loser running out of juice
Time to move out quick
Heard a rumour going round
Jimmy's going down
This time it's gonna stick
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's the one that makes ya feel all right
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
He's gonna be your Frankenstein
Let him soothe your soul, just take his hand
(Dr. Feelgood)
Some people call him an evil man
(Dr. Feelgood)
Let him introduce himself real good
(Dr. Feelgood)
He's the only one they call Feelgood
Guitar!
I've got one thing you'll understand
(Dr. Feelgood)
He's not what you'd call a glamorous man
(Dr. Feelgood)
Got one thing that's easily understood
(Dr. Feelgood)
He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood
Dr. Feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
Dr. Feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
Dr. Feelgood (Dr. Feelgood)
I figure he's at least got a lot of Streetwise, as well as a Wanted disadvantage as well, and some Contacts, and decent resources. I'm afraid I'm new to Hero System (I literally got Hero Fifth and Dark Champions yesterday), so I'm not sure how you would (if you even should) write up Jimmy's bribes to the local cops.

That's unfortunate. I don't suppose the web-master approached the EFF for help?
(As it is, my local library system doesn't have any of the Bantam reprints. Methinks I may have to head up to Powell's to see if they have any of the books.
