  1. Sorry all for this question. Does anyone know the name of the company that picked up the license to do yet another version of a RPG based on the DC universe? I thought I read somewhere that a company just picked up the license a month or two ago.

    Thanks

  2. Re: Defender's Evening Attire?

With regards to the Major Savage. Very neat concept, besides the lockout not being usable with an ultra-slot MP slot (as the slot locks the rest of the MP), can you put multiple powers in an ultraslot like that?

I was disappointed though that I did not see the build for two gadgets I have been working on: a cell phone' date=' and a laptop computer with wireless internet. I mean, using the internet gives a character access to tons of skills, how do you build that?[/quote']

I thought Steve said sometime last year that an online PDF was going to be released. It was the everyman's guide or something like that where all manner of everyday items were going to be written up for Champions.

    Steve?

  4. Iceman is another prime example of this growth. At first he was just a snow covered clown, then an icy shell. Then he got zapped by Loki to god-like cold generation. He finally got control of that and was able to function without his inhibitor belt. Then he finally figures out how to increase his mass (giant iced spikes and super dense armor, giant icy fists, larger than man-sized buffed by super dense icecular muscles). And then lastly, he can now turn his body into ice itself giving him virtual indestructability (he simply reforms himself) and the ability to alter his form.

I'd love to see write ups for each of his various 'phases' of his growth.

He probably started at 250pts, then after some exp added armor and a transform ability to create ice-based constructs and objects. Then a permanent powerful cold damage area effect always on. After a while he pays off the points of the always on disadvantage (which was also helped by an OAF focus, the inhibitor belt). Eventually he then added growth and other body-based powers (tougher armor, damage shield for the spiked armor, +HA area effect of super huge icy fists, increased strength linked to ice armor, Growth as he adds more ice to his mass, etc). After this he gets creative with his ability and adds the 'gimmick' effects. Enhanced sense to detect the changes in temperatures, ability to freeze water molecules in targets to cause unconsciousness or death, etc. Finally I'd say as he is now, around 500pts with a multiform or shapechange ability to count for his pure ice form.

  5. Be careful with those cellphone guys. I remember the spiderman 2003 MTV ep with Silver Sable. Parker was in his spiderman outfit talking to mary jane on his cellphone while walking on a building. As a GM I thought 'That would suck if it fell or he lost it while in superhero ID.'

'operator can you trace this number or cellphone to the orginator'

'Peter Parker IS spiderman'? Let's get em boys

  6. I thought Mechanon rebuilds himself each time with defenses that which destroyed him last? I perverted GM would make some sort of radio feedback that would give you a sonic blast if you used the same frequency again to try to activate the self-destruct. I'd also give him some hardened radio shielding (power or mental defense vs radio group) to help against that in the future.

Congrats though! I have taken my share of lumps from the robotic guy.

  7. Perhaps a young boy who is studying dinosaurs in school does not realize he has mutant powers to summon things from his mind? Everytime he goes to sleep, dinosaurs appears and run amok in the city. The heroes will have a field day trying to find out why they never come out in daylight (unless he is taking a nap) and just vanish after time.

  8. Note sure if I can do this or not and without getting in trouble, I assumed I could since the PDF is on the website? Here is the HD file.

The shockwave power costs 3pts and not 4 as stated in the PDF. I removed the restrainable limitation from the shockwave power (I do not see how this power would be restrainable), this brought the power up to the 4pt cost on the PDF.

  9. WOW! I just went out and bought the mag, very nice! If you this could be done with a marvel character, 1 per issue, I know I'd subscribe in a heart beat!! Or even if they had just champion stats!

  10. I have the new Marvel Universe RPG and it left a somewhat bad taste in my mouth (Kind of like eating eggs after your brushed your teeth with minty toothpaste). Again, like the TSR version and the Wizard SAGA version, everything is overally simplified for a young audience. Everything is based on stones. Time is based on panels, experience based on lines, and it is extremely difficult to die as you can simply choose to be knocked out for x amount of panels.

    Combat goes as follows

I attack with my claws, I put 5 stones into it, and get +2 for the claws, thus I do 7 stones of damage.

HA! I put 6 stones into my defense, and get +1 stone for my rubbery body, you do no damage to me.

Next combat round, everyone gets stones back based on Intelligence and other factors.

OK, hulk hits the 12yr old with a lamppost. 10 stones of strength and +2 stones for the lamp post, the young kid only has 1 stone of defense. He takes 11 stones of damage and is dead. Wait!! I use 1 stone to make it so I am only knocked out for 33 panels.

    Repeat and rinse.

Kind of funny, combat with a person with the same stone pool and stats. We could not harm each other at all.

Alas, another dream-filled night of wishing Marvel was done by the folks at hero.
