  1. Re: New to Hero thanks again. The sites had some really good stuff on them. I will definitely be picking your brains when I need help.
  2. Re: New to Hero It's good to know that it isn't just me, and it is probably correct to say that if I could remember way back when I first started playing D&D it was probably overwhelming too. First let me say thanks for all the great feedback. Second I live in the Southern In area and honestly don't know of anyone that has played the Hero system before, everyone I know only plays D&D. I was kind of hoping to get the ball rolling with something different. (Although in all fairness I have gotten a few people to try Serenity, but that's it so far.) If anyone knows of groups in this area a head up would be great. Also I was trying to figure out the online gaming deal, for Hero, and haven't had any luck with that yet. I figured I might be able to get in on some online games till I get a good understanding of the system.
  3. I'm very new to the Hero system and I am finding it a bit intimidating. I have been a D&D player since just before 2e came out and have to admit that Hero seems to be a lot more in depth. I chose to make the jump to Hero because it truly seems to be a "the sky's the limit" type of system, and I really like the idea of that. So far I have the Hero 5e, Fantasy Hero and Champions. I figure the core rules and two genre books would be enough to really help me really understand the game. I'm just wondering if being overwhelmed by the the system is normal for someone unfamiliar with it, or am I just spoiled to the D&D/d20 way of doing things and making the process of learning the system harder on myself? Just looking for some friendly feedback.
