I've been buying 5th edition books like crazy, especially now that the 6th edition is coming out and all the 5th edition books are much cheaper.
A friend of mine even gave me their old 4th editions, two of them being the Ultimate Supermage and Super Mage Bestiary.
That in mind. I've noticed a few differences between the two. For example. In Arcane Adversaries, it only mentions the Ravens of Dispersion in passing. But the Bestiary gives them a name, the Harab Serapel. Even talks about their dimension being called the Pale Cathedral, and that Quemetiel itself can be found in the well on that plane.
Is that still pretty much correct for 5th and 6th edition?
Second question. In Ultimate Supermage, it talks about the reason earth has a magical field around it. That a prison world that contained a dozen or more Kings of Edom collided with another, which eventually those two celestial bodies becoming the Earth and the Moon.
I quote, "Earth is magical because deep in its mantle dwell dozens of Kings of Edom. The Earth’s magic field began as the spillover of their personal power. It has grown since humanity began; human minds act as tiny lenses and amplifiers, augmenting the magic field and shaping it into new forms like the Imaginal Realms."
Does -that- still hold true into the present editions? I hope so. Sounds awesome.
That's all my questions for now. Though you can bet I'll have more. I'm throughly fascinated with all this lore.
(I also noticed one of the moderators has the name Hermit. I find that funny, after all my years on the internet, it's the first time I've encountered another Hermit! Guess we live up to our names!)
