Due to a deprived childhood, I am only now being introduced to PnP games. A terrible state.

Comatose Turtle's Achievements

  1. Round 2: I am trying to make a character who can absorb any form of energy and then release it again (the same type of energy, in due proportion). For example, He absorbs X amount of heat energy and it adds to his reserve for Fire/Heat SFX. Later, he can release ~X Fire/Heat energy through an EB of some kind. Similarly, he could release electricity by absorbing electricity, light by absorbing light, sound by absorbing sound... And he can store all of these at once, giving him a wide range of options for dishing it back out. How exactly would one model that? (Actually, light would be harder... let's drop that for now and think only in terms of EB's... Unless you want to.) I was thinking that absorbing into END reserves would be appropriate, but the problem becomes how to have an END reserve ready for when you have to absorb some arbitrary energy? That kind of variance and multiplicity seems to demand a VPP, but Hero Designer at least complains when an END reserve is placed in a pool. And anyways changing powers in a VPP costs at least a 0-phase action, right? That would still keep the END reserves from being available right when they're needed. Would the option "Cannot control when or how powers change" be appropriate and/or useful? What would you do?
  2. Re: Matter Eating (with linked powers) Lots of good ideas here, thanks. Doc, I notice that you are recommending 2 linked powers with 60 AP each (a total of 120 AP, if you consider them as one). Would most GM's frown on that?
  3. Hello all, It's my first HERO character, and I could use some help with building my powers. Specifically, how would you model the ability to eat anything? I have tentatively used an HKA 2 1/2d6 with armor piercing to provide a way to eat more resistant, non-food items (and potentially people, I suppose, though I don't intend to do so). Would I need an added advantage because the object actually gets eaten (end effectively no longer exists)? As an added bonus, my character would change into any metal consumed at a high concentration, increasing density and defense (a compound power of Density Increase plus Armor). This has a limitation of "only up to the density/defense of the metal consumed", and has been bought as uncontrolled, with a time limit based on the amount of metal eaten. Other modifiers desired are 0 END use, Extra Time (Extra Segment) for swallowing and digesting, Visible (metal body), and Linked (to Super Eating, only in the case that a high concentration of metal is eaten). Does it sound like I'm going about this the right way? How would you build such a power set? Also note that I am working with a very unfortunate 60 Active Point limit. (Bonus question: Does uncontrolled last through multi-form?) Thanks!
