Naked Advantages

Yesman

Question

Hello,

If a character has a power with a Required Skill Roll limitation and a naked power advantage that adds to it, do the active points of the naked power add to the skill roll penalty?

for instance if character with a 30 pt EB. has area affect radius as a Naked advantage (another 30 pts active). is the -1/10 skill roll made at -3, or -6?

As stated in the Rules FAQ:

Q: If Requires A Skill Roll is taken as a Limitation for a “naked” Power Advantage, should the character calculate the Skill Roll penalty based on the Active Points in the Advantage, or in the Power + Advantage combination?

A: Only on the points in the naked Advantage.

The same applies in reverse. A naked Advantage is a separate “Power,” and thus won’t factor into the calculation of Required Skill Roll penalty for the power the naked Advantage is used with unless the naked Advantage itself has the RSR Limitation (which it probably should, if intended to apply to an ability that has RSR). In that case, use the rule on 5E 199 re: activating two powers with the same RSR at the same time.
