Simultaneous Move-Through Knockback

Dr. Anomaly

Question

Steve,

A follow-up question concerning Knockback. Using your example, suppose Ramrod does 23 Body to Tank, and Tank does 27 Body to Ramrod (the average) and assume that each rolls a '7' on the Knockback dice, so Tank takes 16" of Knockback and Ramrod takes 20" of Knockback. With that in mind, here are my questions:

1) The person performing the Move-Through takes full damage if the target is not knocked back; if the target IS knocked back, the attacker takes 1/2 damage himself because he doesn't come to a sudden full stop when he his the target, he continues on for a bit (through space previously occupied by the target) before coming to a stop.

Let's use Ramrod as an example for a moment. Since he's moving full-tilt forward, if he takes Knockback from the Move Through that Tank is performing simultaneously, shouldn't Ramrod automatically take the full damage that HE (Ramrod) dished out to Tank, since Ramrod is not only coming to a full stop, but actually REVERSING direction (by being knocked back)?

2) Considering that in this case Ramrod is moving forward with 30" of velocity anyway, does this cancel out any of the inches of Knockback (20") that Ramrod takes from Tank's Move Through?
