Coordinated attacks 2

Cyz

Question

Hello,

If 2 characters decide to make a coordinated attack, 1 with a grab, the second with a punch, how is considered the DCV of the target during the attack ?

If, at the same phase & same DEX, the punching character wait the other successfully grabs (determined by a DEX Roll or a Teamwork SR), can you consider it's a coordinated attack ?

Thanks

1. The whole point of Coordinating attacks is to improve the chance of Stunning the target. Coordinating with an attack like Grab, that doesn’t do Stun damage (or some related type of damage as noted at the bottom of 5E 249), is meaningless.

But to answer the question on a theoretical basis, in the event one or more characters involved in a Coordinated attack use an attack or power that somehow lowers the target’s DCV, the lowering does not apply to any attacks used in that Coordinated attack. It might, depending on how the lowering works, apply in later Segments, or to other attacks (not a part of the Coordinated attack) that take place in the same Segment but after the Coordinated attack occurs.

2. As answered above, no. In any event, as noted on 5E 249, Coordinated attacks take place on the same DEX in the same Phase — in effect, they occur simultaneously with each other. Therefore one can’t occur before the other; one character can’t “wait” until another character makes his part of the attack.
