AmadanNaBriona
So I was pondering the tao of munchkinism, and I got to thinking about how to do something... Essentially, my question plays out like such... In a situation where many powers share a common group of Charges, would folk condiser Increased Endurance cost multiples to be the proper way to reflect a power than consumes a greater number of charges per use, or should it be some form of custom limit. An example would be ordinance hardpoints, where a certain number of "Charges" for a multipower could reflect the possible loads, and the available slots would reflect that, but different slots would have different "space" requirements in charges. This could also be tied to additional active points in the reserve looking something like this maybe? 36 90ap reserve Multipower OAF hardpoint bulky, 16 charges 15 +30ap reserve (total 120ap) OAF Bulky 8 charges 9 +30ap reserve (total 150ap) OAF Bulky 4 charges 8 +30ap reserve (total 180ap) OAF Bulky 2 charges 7 +30ap reserve (total 210ap) OAF Bulky 1 charge total MP reserve cost: 75 4 u- anti armor rockets 4d6 AP RKA (90 ap, uses 1 charge) 4 u- HE Rockets 4d6 RKA explosion (90 ap, uses 1 charge) 5 u- Guided A2A missiles 3d6+1 RKA AoE 1hex, NRM, x5 max range (120ap, uses 2 charges) 6 u- Anti ship missile 5 1/2d6 RKA, 5 points Peircing, AP (150ap, uses 4 charges) 7 u- bomb 18d6 EB Explosion, -1 DC/3" (180ap, uses 8 charges) 8 u- tacnuke 8d6 RKA Explosion, Mega area 1"=1 km (210 active, uses 16 charges) total cost: 109 points Thats a real quick example using the fastest and probably most legal way to do it. Any alternate ideas out there?
stan da ork
Re: using multiple charges from a common pool 5ER, page 287, "Requires Multiple Charges". It pretty much takes care of exactly what you are talking about. So the book legal way of doing it would be to buy the MP Reserve with enough points for the biggest power, apply the Charges limitation to it, then make each power use up a number of charges based on how many could be loaded on a hardpoint. Super Squirrel
Re: using multiple charges from a common pool I was going to say -1/4 for double charges, -1/2 for quadruple charges, etc... but stan da ork has the point pretty much covered. I need 5ER.
