Damage Shield Questions: HKA or RKA?

gorillaboss

Question

Howdy. I'm trying to design a character with a Damage Shield (he secretes corrosive chemicals), but I'm uncertain how to go about building it correctly. Published examples of similar powers seem to be somewhat contradictory.

In Hero Bestiary, the Giant Space Amoeba's shield is built as: HKA, Continuous, Damage Shield, Penetrating, 0 END Persistent, Always On, No STR Bonus

In the UNTIL SD, however, the example under Acid Powers shows: RKA, Continuous, Damage Shield, Penetrating, Personal Immunity

My questions are...

1) Why is HKA--No STR used in one example, and RKA used in another?

2) Why is Personal Immunity used in the second example, and not in the first?

Thanks in advance.

1. Because sometimes HKA best suits the power, and sometimes RKA.

2. Because some characters that secrete acid would generally be immune to that same power used by other people -- anyone who bought that power from USPD would be immune to it if someone else bought it. The Giant Space Amoeba is willing to take the chance no one will attack it with its same power. ;)
