Damage Shield Question

Hi Steve - hope you are recovered from your oral adventures,

 

The question is this:

 

I have a character with an Offensive Damage Shield.

 

This character also has STR that effects a hex.

 

Will the offensive damage shield work as normal

 

or

 

do I have to purchase the area effect advantage on it as well

 

or

 

do I purchase the area effect advantage but only on the Offensive component of the damage shield?

If you want the Damage Shield to affect an area, you have to buy the appropriate Area Of Effect Advantage for it -- the DS and your STR are separate things.
