AVLD & Damage Reduction

Current rules state that Normal and Resistant Damage Reduction work against AVLD attacks. Damage Reduction has a defense component of PD, ED or MD.

 

If the AVLD now uses a different defense like Flash Defense how do you determine which configurations of Damage Reduction work against the AVLD Attack?

Whether it works against Flash Defense, or Power Defense, or what have you, an AVLD is still going to be physical, or energy, mental, or the like -- just like a "Magic" attack works against some form of defined defense instead of "Magic Defense." I suspect most AVLDs will be affected by Energy Damage Reduction, but it's up to the GM to make the call if it's not obvious from the special effects or the character's description.
