The MMOG City of Heroes originally was much closer to Champions in character building til they realized it was going to be murder on character balance. This would be a pretty handy idea. Personally speaking I've toyed with the idea of a MMOG sourcebook for hero games: how to run games that feel like an online "RPG" and conversion ideas for several of the more popular ones. I don't know how well it would sell but it would be fun to develop. It might be a useful way of introducing "rpgers" into the real world of role playing games.
