Shove as a Dive for Cover

prestidigitator

Question

If you successfully Dive for Cover out of the area of an attack, the attack has no effect on you. You can Block an attack aimed at another character. Along a similar vein, could you use the Shove maneuver on an ally to get him out of the area of an incoming attack, and have it function as if they had themselves successfully used Dive for Cover? Or a Throw for that matter, if you could find the time (and hopefully a nice soft landing area)?

I know you could use a Held Phase and a Dex-off (or maybe an Abort if the GM is kind enough) to pull something like that off before the attacker's Phase comes off, but I guess the real question is whether that interrupts "in time" to keep them from reacting to it, like: if you Abort to a Block, they're making their attack and that's that. It's not like they start their attack, see you are going to Block, and can then decide to attack the guy next to you instead (at least without a lot of fenagling with the GM or Precognition or something).

Sorry if that was a bit of a ramble. Hope I got the question across all right.
