Questions about Champions in general.

I'm just trying to get some basic info on champions online. Like, what is the max level? Do skills level up and how? Also, I want to know if you have weapons or items that increase your power, and is this the type of game where you have to hunt a certain creature for a certian weapon? If you know the answers to any of these questions, please answer back.

Max Level = 40

 

"Skills" are subdivided as Powers, Travel Powers, Talents, Super Stats, and Ranks / Advantages. You gain points in the various categories as you level that can be spent on new abilities in the various categories, with the exception of Ranks / Advantages which are used to improve existing abilities (and are actually the most useful in my opinion).

 

There are enhancements that give stat bonuses, and some that are "power replacements" and have powers / functions of their own. These are distributed as either drops, mission rewards, or by the game's equivalent of crafting. There is also a market system. In the big picture, these items don't have much weight and as they are level oriented you wont be holding on to a given one for long, five or six levels at most.

 

There are also devices, which are limited use items, that otherwise behave the same as enhancements.

 

I'm not aware of any particular item being dropped by a particular bad guy, but there might be.

Your powers autolevel with you and can be ranked higher for effect or given special effect advantages for control or additional abilities. You can also mix and match any power from any framework.

 

Tradeskills can be leveled, with 3 types (arms, science, mysticism) with three flavor subbranches that are the same differing in flavor text under them. Those make good items to slot, and you can customize them.

 

There are no drops to farm (save for the uber rare Foxbat Zombie pet in the Takofanes event). You can buy items to slot with points you earn, rely on drops, or make your own.
