Universal Focuses and Only Usable On Others powers

Naanomi

Question

Does a Universal Focus that has a power that is only usable on others (Not via a limitation, but as a base part of the power... like Healing or Transform) allow it to be usable on yourself?

For example: The Alchemist brews up a few healing potions (Healing, OAF, blah blah blah) and finds himself needing a bit of a patch up himself. Can he drink one? Does it do nothing? Does he need to buy it as a MP with Regeneration for if he wants to drink it (and if so, what if it is in an alchemy VPP?).

If the answer is 'no', then what needs to be done to make it so it works on everyone, even the original source of the power?

Re: Universal Focuses and Only Usable On Others powers

Part of your question proceeds from a faulty premise. There's nothing inherent in the rules for Healing that prevents a character from using it on himself. An alchemist who whips up a Healing Potion, or a character with a Healing-based power, can certainly use it on himself unless some Limitation prevents him from doing so.

Transform, OTOH, specifically cannot be used on one's self. The solution is to achieve the same result with some other power (Multiform being one good option in many cases).
