culhwch
Hey, does anyone know of a utility that will allow me to a map out a star system? Preferably one that shows planetary orbits and has icons based on the size of the planet (to easily tell gas giants from rocks)?
Nolgroth
Re: Any Star System Mapping Utilities? AstroSynthesis is sort of the industry standard if you are looking to spend money. http://www.nbos.com/products/astro/astro.htm A much older, but free program, is It's Full of Stars. I cannot find the link for the author's page. Here is another page that is full of suggestions. Hosted by our very own Nyrath. http://www.projectrho.com/smap07.html#windows EDIT: Looks like a lot of the links are dead. The README for IFOS does specify freeware with the only stipulation to distribution being non-profit. So if you would like a copy, we can make arrangements. Nyrath
Re: Any Star System Mapping Utilities? I don't know if this would suit your needs, it is very Traveller oriented http://www.downport.com/wbd/HEAVEN_&_EARTH.htm
culhwch
Re: Any Star System Mapping Utilities? Thanks guys! Nolgoth, I did find AstroSynthesis and have been evaluating it. I like it, just not sure I'm willing to pay what they're asking. I'll look at some of the other links on the link you posted. Nyrath, I am doing a Traveller Hero campaign, but I'm using Star Hero's sector generation as I like space being 3D I'll have a look at Heavean & Earth, though....looks like the World info stuff might suit my needs.
