First, a vehicle that shows off a bit of my design philosophy re. space vehicles: a generic spaceplane cargo carrier.

I use the FREd Ultimate Vehicle and Star Hero for reference (don't have the 6Ed versions), but I don't think it'll be that hard to see what I'm getting at. The Space Flight Advantage is the optional use of Cumulative on Flight -- it's pretty self-explanatory, I think. This build here can reach about 2.1 Gs, and has a dV of 10.6 km/s -- a hair's breadth under Earth's escape velocity -- and an atmospheric max speed of Mach 2.

 

The Fusion Torch Rocket MP is a two-mode rocket -- one that uses the local atmosphere (Trace or thicker) as reaction mass, and another that uses an on-board tank of whatever is available locally, most often water.

 

The Sensor/Comm Suite can detect and transmit data in all forms of EM radiation, from gamma rays to ELF radio. In space (+6 from extreme contrast [hot vehicle on background of cold-cold space], +6 from size [smallest commonly available space craft], and the Telescopic Adder) this basic suit should reach a -0 penalty to Detect at a range of about 500 km, and have a -8 penalty at 8,000 km -- about the range of the radius of Earth.
