  1. Re: Superman Averts World War II?

That's one of an approximately infinite number of ways it could play out. Projecting historically divergent timelines is inherently less accurate than predicting the existing timeline's future, which is pretty damn inaccurate. What purpose are you accomplishing with this hypothetical timeline?

I was in Darren Watts' playtest campaign for his upcoming new edition of Golden Age Champions. The setting has in-continuity mechanics similar to DC's Spear of Destiny plot device why supers didn't run away with the whole show. Also, a broad selection of villains, which were not just Nazis. In our playtest, Der Totenkopf, the Nazi "final boss", didn't survive the end of WWII, but his Japanese counterpart, the Iron Father, did.

"He laughed at accidental sirens that broke the evening gloom; the police had warned of repercussions-- they followed none too soon! A trickle of strangers were all that were left alive..."

Danvers is currently a colonel, not a major, and has been for years real time. I like the black monokini and thigh boots look better, but I get why some see it as sexist, and the variant Mar-Vell uniform is okay. But there is no excuse for the transgender Tintin up-do.

I suspect the coloration of Grenadier's costume is supposed to be reminiscent of the traditional protective covering of stick dynamite. I'm probably more guilty of sexifying Grenadier on my own initiative (because I like and am practicing making "Good Girl Art") than Steve's written description is. Storn's Villains Vol. 3 illustration is probably much more to your liking, although I disagree with his addition of leg straps and bandoleers.

When I made this one, I experimented with using "tone" for shading. It's really just a perfectly even array of black dots, and is a standard technique in comics illustration (especially black and white and low-resolution comics which can't otherwise represent shades of grey). But I've noticed that at certain screen resolutions the tone doesn't reproduce evenly and weird patterns appear in the supposedly even shading. Maybe thats something a professional would know to expect, but it came as a surprise to me. Do you get that effect when you look at this picture on your computer?
