Some ideas:
Originally posted by SeraphimI like the idea of fountain of youth as i have used it in my other campaign.
I do have a new problem though after crowley who can I have as a criminal mastermind, I dont want fanchu, or the martians, or moriarty. I want someone who can give the team a run for their money, is a great literary figure, and I can span at least three sessions in an adventure with.
The only bad guy I can come up with is Dr Moreau.
Any ideas???
Dracula, Cthullhu, Baron Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein and/or his creation, Dr. Calligari (sp?). What year is it in your campaign?

Tired of incompetent Henchmen?
Can your goons shoot straight? Does one Martial Artist take down ten of them at a time? Are they skilled enough to properly operate your secret Doomsday Weapon? Well, then, send them to The Academy!
At The Academy, we turn incompetent morons into effecient soldiers. Our instrutors are known throughout Villainhood for their ability to turn a two-second distraction into a ten-minute distraction. That's right, we don't garuntee that your new, improved goons will be able to best the "heroes," but they will buy you those few extra seconds you need to complete your latest plot. Oh, and if you have a special enemy who just happens to show up everytime you set a plan in motion, send us their name(s), prferably with a video tape of them in action, and we will train your men specificly to handle them! Contact The Academy* today!

But... but... can't I fix that by going back and killing my childhood friend Teddy?
Or was he an alien?
Well, yes, he was. But, as soon as you attempt to travel back for that purpose, your future self from a post-apocalyptic alternate future will sho up to stop you. See, by killing Teddy when he was young, you would start a series of events that would lead to the worst alternate future of them all. Your only hope is to travel back to just before you started time-travelling in the first place, and prevent yourself from changing any history at all. Of course, that in itself would change history, since you did travel back and..... my brain hurts, now.

Not quite sure how they are in the real world [i think the actor who played Green Hornet might've also played the Lone Ranger] but I know how they're connected in the story. Unless I'm mistaken, the Lone Ranger is the Green Hornet's great grandfather.
Close. In the real world, both characters were created by the same producer/writer for the same radio network. In the story, the Lone Ranger's dead brother (can't remember his first name, but their last name was Reid), was the grandfather of Brit Reid, the original Green Hornet.

Um..... excuse me? The Green Hornet was real. Well, a real character, I mean. Started as a radio show in the '30s, and became a television show in the '60s (even crossed over with the Batman show once). Had a very good comic series in the '80s. Now, for extra points, can anyone tell me how the Green Hornet is connected to the Lone Ranger (both in the real world, and in the story)?

Out of curiousity,
and because I don't have the any of the 5th Ed. CU stuff; where IS Stronghold in the official CU? In games I've run, I always put it 1 1/2 miles underneath Death Valley.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: My own thoughts on Nightcrawler
Originally posted by TheEmergedThere were times during the Morrison JLA that I thought it was going to happen -- especially when he started pairing Zauriel and Plaz (it's a natural pairing; the angel and the redeemed) in dialog.
I always wanted to see more interaction between Zauriel and the Huntress. I mean, she's a Roman Catholic (although she has slipped a good bit, but she still wore a cross as part of her costume at the time), and he was an honest-to-God (no pun intended) Angel! What does that do to her head? Especially since at the same time both Orion and Barda were on the team, with Orion constantly proclaiming his own godhood.I would have loved to see some deep conversation between the Angel and the Believer concerning the New God.

Re: My own thoughts on Nightcrawler
Originally posted by HermitI'd still put him as one of the first religious super heroes, and it never struck me as in a particularly 'bad' way [/b]
I don't think you can qualify Nightcrawler as one of the first religious super-heroes. That's assuming that none of the Golden Age or earlier Silver Age heroes were religious. I think that NC was just one of the first ones where his religion was important to the story. In the 40's, it was just kind of assumed that most everybody was religious, and therefore it was just no big deal. But, when you're in Nightcrawler's situation, on a team like the X-Men (as opposed to, say, the JSA), then yeah, being devout makes you stand out from the crowd.

OK, hear we go....
Things Batman does not like:
Magic
Extra-Dimensional stuff
Government Liasons
Working with "Amateurs"
Super-powered people operating in Gotham
Getting too involved with a lot of people
Too many people being in the Cave.
Etc., etc., etc.
Now, how many of those things would your campaign include?
I'm not trying to shoot you down, I'm just saying Batman would
not be involved in this, and I feel you should pull him out of
this situation. But, that's just my 1/50 of a dollar.

My opinion:
Move it to anywhere but Gotham. Disassociate Batman from the team. That's my opinion.

Powerpuff Girl all grown-up! (And out, in a few places:D )

Kitchen Appliance Man
Robotic character who's body was a refrigerator. Shot out high-speed, rapid-fire ice cubes. Always announced to his foes (in a bad French accent, even though the character was not French) "I.... am KITCHEN APPLIANCE MAN!"

DC Comics had Zauriel, an honest-to-God Angel as a member of the JLA for a while. I've also played Angel PCs in a few games. Two of my characters were Catholic priests, and I had one guy in a Shadowrun game who spent most of his down-time in confession. Most of my characters tend to be non-Bible-thumping, laid back Christians with some Pagan influences (kind of like me;) ). My big question is: given the encounters with demons, spirits, and out-right miracles, how can any comic book or RPG character NOT have religious faith of some kind? I also always wondered: why isn;t everyone in the Marvel Universe an Odinist? I mean, Thor is right freaking there for anyone to see!

Wildcat,
I like both Raven and Black Owl very much. Let me guess, the latter was inspired by Dr. Midnight?

I love those books! I highly recommend them, along with almost everything Turtledove has ever written. As for the invasion question, I feel I can add nothing to what's already been said. Most important part is deciding what effect you want the invasion to have. Wait! Here's an idea. DC did an Elesworlds a little while back, where aliens invaded Earth and were quickly met by superhuman opposition. So, they tried a new tactic, slaughtering hundreds of humans everytime a super-human showed up. This caused normal people to turn against superheroes and eventually drive them underground. Of course, the few remaining superheroes eventually banded together and attacked the aliens' high commander when he visited Earth. Might give you some fodder to work with.

It depends on what character I was playing. But, the character I am currently designing in my head, Blue Sentinel, would be shocked for a moment (consider it a presence attack), but would then become determined to get to the bottom of this. He'd try an Entangler to immobilize her, and then probably start asking her questions about why she was doing this, and doesn't she love him (yes, he has a secret identity, but he's a little careless with it)?

Ding!Ding!Ding!
Ladies and gentelmen, we have a winner! And the character's name wil be......................................................................................................(drum roll)........................................................................................................Blue Sentinel!! Thank you eevryone for all the help. Now, here's hoping I get a chance to actually play him sometime.

Yeah. Shapeshifters blow the curve, I guess. :-)
Which is the real reason Sue Richards stays married to Reed;) . But, Beast Boy cannot change or enlongate specific body parts. He takes the shape of different animals, which would not make him any more appealing to most women (though there are a few, but that's an entirely different type of website).
