Is that what you call a boomerang that won't come back?

David Crowder Band - 'Can You Hear Us?'

Doesn't that depend on where you are?

You don't trust me with that decision?

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I have a real chip on my shoulder and am pissed off, and this says it pretty well - my current theme song:
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of our wrongs
They decide and the shotgun sings the song
I tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the foe, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they'd all flown in the last war
I tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!
I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-by
And the party on the left
Is now the party on the right
And their beards have all grown longer overnight
I tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

Re: Musings on Random Musings
Argggggh. I completely forgot about it. How was it?I spent the entire day cleaning and reading with a nice mix of background music (which was an entertaining mix of War of the Worlds, Alan Parsons Project, Spyro Gyro, Pat Metheny, Run DMC, Peter Gabriel Genesis and Cober, a Seattle Band).
Wow - lot of good music listed there, although I've never listened to Run DMC or Cober.
War of the Worlds - the other Moody Blues album.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I'm looking forward to daylight savings.
I still think that in the spring, instead of moving the clock ahead an hour, we should move it back 23. That would give us one great big Sunday. Then, in the fall, we would move it up 23, and it would be Tuesday in no time, eliminating a dreaded Monday.
I'm sure we could also do something about that pesky leap year at the same time . . .

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I’ve been thinking about our fortune
And I’ve decided that we’re really not to blame
For the love that’s deep inside us now
Is still the same
And the sounds we make together
Is the music to the story in your eyes
It’s been shining down upon me now
I realize
Listen to the tide slowly turning
Wash all our heartaches away
We’re part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day
But I’m frightened for your children
That the life that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we’ve been waiting for
Will turn to rain
When the final line is over
It’s certain that the curtain’s gonna fall
I can hide inside your sweet sweet love
For ever more

Re: The cranky thread
I hate skunks.0300, the dogs want out.
Open the door, and 2.5 feet away, is a skunk eating the cat food.
of course the dogs rolled in the laundry pile before I could get them into the shower...
6 washings later, with everything but the kitchen sink...
I hear ya! Oooohhhh, what a stench!
When I was a kid, my cousins and I saw a guy walking a skunk on a leash. We were fascinated - we had never seen such a thing. We went and talked to him - all of us from a distance except Mike, who always had more balls than brains - and the guy said the skunk was de-scented, and couldn't spray any more. My cousin asked if he could pet it, the guy said, sure go ahead, nothing can go wrong.
That skunk sprayed Mike so bad, it was unbelievable. If you never smelled a skunk's spray, you have no concept of how powerful a stench it really is. Horrid, just horrid. He had to bury his clothes and wash himself with tomato juice before his dad would let him in the house.
Good luck, man. And hopefully your dogs will know to go the other direction next time!

You know - you can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't wipe your friends on the couch.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
Well, I warned another poster that when you dwell on the negative, it'll bite you in the ass.
I should've listened to my own advice.
The fun in the zealot thread turned quickly to darkness. The negativity has rubbed off on me, and I must go scour my brain. See y'all in a while.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
Sounds like bread is a gamers most dangerous food!
Have you ever gone barefoot and had something stick to the bottom of your foot? Natural reaction is to wipe it off on the top of teh other foot. I did that once, and it turned out that the object stuck to my foot was glass, and when I did the brush-off, it slice down into one foot and up into the other! No fun!
And once when I was waiting for a girl to call me, the phone rang. I was excated and ran full tilt to get the phone. I stubbed my toe going through a doorway, right where a panelling nail was sticking out, and it ripped my big toenail right off. I didn't answer the phone.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I have said all I can say on the zealot thread, and yet I continue to say more. I have a bizzarre fascination to see what whathisface will say next. It's very much like poking a hive with a stick, just to see what happens next . . .
man, I do have a dark side.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I like seeing song lyrics here. They often spark fond memories. Here's an obscure tune I always liked:
In a sheltered place where I viewed the world
And all that it contained
I would see your face in a misty haze
And wish that you were there
Yes I wished that you were there
Darling Fool, I was with you all the way
Be as the flower that unfolds with each day
Trust your place in time though you have won and lost
How very much like me you are
When you come to me
Truly, truly trust your heart
Truly, oh truly trust your heart
Why bear malice just let it go
So what of pride it will swallow you whole
Here's to the judge, to the tyrant, and the beast
You keep a knockin' but you can't come in
Truly, truly trust your heart
Truly, truly trust your heart
The moonlight of your soul, fond memories to unfold
Of the days when we were young
Of the love we'd forever hold
Truly, truly trust your heart
Truly, truly trust your heart
I bring thunder, lightning and rain
For those who administer injustice and pain
Comfort the weak and feed the poor
What on earth do we need government for?
Truly, truly trust your heart
Truly, oh truly trust your heart

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I'm typing with my bad hand that has been acting up. Today something in it cracked like a gunshot, and went through me like an icicle. But apparently, it was something going back in place, because it's moving better, and although it still hurts, it's more like a healing ache than a constant don't-do-that twinge.
The big test will be playing tomorrow in rehearsal.
