Re: What comic book villains would make cool heroes, and vice versa?
True enough, but you're ignoring the flaming ball of plot device that went into the river with him. And it WAS the waters around NY. If he didn't die he's coming back as some kind of horrific monster.

Re: Stomach of Survival
Well, I wouldn't go as far as making his main power the "eat Anything" ability. Just a weird sidenote power. I'm thinking as he progresses he'll wind up along the lines of the old Beast. Maybe throw in a little gadget pool.

For that, check out the climax of Spider-Man 2
I agree whole-heartedly. Although, I wish movies would quit killing villains.
I'd love to see Doc Ock as an ongoing hero. An ongoing friendly rivalry with both Spidey and Mr. Fantastic.

Re: Mentalist Character Background Question.
As a GM I would allow it. Player is willing to spend the points for it. It doesn't break any mechanics and could be a useful "power".
However, as a GM I would also keep in mind that "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions".

Repped.

The Joker has just become completely lame on Earth-Mine
My players may never forgive you

Re: The Worst character in comics
What say we just throw all of Liefield's characters into a pile with Cable on top and then set the pile on fire?

Re: The Worst character in comics
Let's hope that Paul Cornell can re-invigorate Capt Britain. However, one of my points is that King Arthur wouldn't have been English. If he existed, he would have been a Romano-Celtic warlord and would have fought the people who became the English - ie: the Saxons.
It was the Romans who called these islands Britannia and, as it was at the ends of the Empire, it was considerd something of a hardship posting.
Remember, English is the language which follows other languages down darks alleys, mugs them and goes through their pockets for loose vocabulary.
Repped for historical accuracy and making me laugh.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
While not actually a gaming quote, this one comes from my co-GM.
Set-up: We were attending a Free Comic Book Day convention to sell our comics. He writes and I draw. We are both capable of doing the others job but we are each MUCH faster at our own. Anyway, the quote:
"Comic books are meant to be fondled..... so are writers.... and artists if you really want to go that route."

Re: Characters from HERO Art.
AH... yes I am... I probably shouldn't keep those books right next to each other.

Re: What comic book villains would make cool heroes, and vice versa?
I've always wondered what would have happened if Eel O'Brian hadn't "seen the error of his ways".
I'm also curious as to what a Heroic Otto Octavius would be like.

Re: Characters from HERO Art.
Ummmm page 113? I don't see any pics at all on that page... there's a Fantasy HERO looking image on 111 and some guy with an ankh on his chest on 115.
I'm confused

Re: Fear Power.
The way I read this, it's a power that is pretty much balanced out by it's own limitations. I'd make it a Distinctive Features.

Re: Looking for literary help with background
Honestly, I can see it going either way. Flesh it out a lot more or condense it. As is, it's a sorta klunky read.

Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous)
Memorial Monument HERO - Play as your favorite Monument to your favorite Historically Important Dead Person. BEWARE THE PIGEONS!
And in reference to the Happy Days HERO post we have the Adventure Supplement - What Ever Happened to Chuck?

Re: Looking for literary help with background
I think you could condense the early childhood aspects a bit. Focus more on the Oxford days and specifically on the initial uses of power.
All in all not a bad origin.

Re: Stomach of Survival
The "super chewing" is just extra defenses for his mouth. He won't have the STR to bite through anything tougher than things like tin or aluminum for a while. Then I'm thinking of making it a hefty HKA with some AP and Penetrating.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Okay' date=' so the lady in question is probably a voodoo priestess, and the chauffeur is probably a zombie, and one or both of them is probably involved in the death of the guy who gave Wild Card a treasure map a few adventures ago, which treasure map they are now trying to buy/extort from him. Honestly, I don't see the problem here....[/quote']Problem?
No
"Interesting" night on the town?
Definitely

Re: New trick arrow!
Summon has the disadvantage that once you launch the cat it's unable to act until it has a chance to reorient. Of course Followers could also work here, but you may need to buy limited extra STR, Only to Throw Cats.Still, since the cat CLEARLY should be clawing, hissing and biting wildly as it streaks through the air, you may need some other power construct and simply use an enraged projectile cat as the SFX. For example:
Darkness to Sight/Hearing (Hissing cat stuck to the head)
Flash to Sight/Hearing (Cat spit in the eyes, screams in ear)
1 PIP RKA, Continuous, Uncontrolled (Claw/Claw/Bite/Rear Claw/Rear Claw)
Eantangle (Get this mother f@#$^ing cat of my mother f@#$^ing head!)
Repped!

That works... thanks

Re: Quandry.
From what I've gathered on the CO Boards UCC is probably a given. Not that anything has been said directly but the devs seem VERY much on the bleeding edge of game design and pleasing their customer base.

I'm starting up a Teen Champions campaign with my friend and co-GM so we each need characters to play when the other is running. My character won't be starting out with very much in the way of powers.
His back story: Seth Thomas is an uber nerd. Sci-Fi, comics, gaming, Super Hero fan and all of that. He also happens to be borderline superhumanly intelligent. He recently concocted a formula in an attempt to give himself super powers. The results are, currently, rather disappointing. He managed to turn himself into a 3'7" faun like creature and boost his intelligence to just over superhuman levels.
As a result of this origin I have a few powers for him already.
A little extra Running and Leaping. A suite of Enhanced Senses, mostly bonuses, nothing too esoteric yet. I'm thinking of selling off his swimming, not as a result of being a faun but from being a nerd that hasn't learned to swim. As part of his mutation I've given him Life Support vs. sleep, his brain has become so efficient he doesn't need to sleep. He also gets a small boost to PD & ED.
The problem I'm having is with the other form of Life Support I want to give him. I'm basing it off the "mythic" ability that goats can eat anything.
All I can come up with is Life Support vs. anything he eats or drinks. He can still be knocked out or poisoned by gasses, can be affected by anything introduced into his system through the skin, can still contract diseases. If he eats or drinks ANY harmful substance he's ok.
So how do I build this? Any help is appreciated.
