  1. All- I want to use clinging but with only the feet of the character, so they can simply walk on walls. Would this be a variable +1/2 maybe? She is an archer, and hence I would want her to be able to still shoot while sticking to the wall. Thanks in advance.
  2. Re: Running Hero at Gaming Conventions All- Well thanks for all of the suggestions. I just wanted to throw the idea out there. I tend to want to run really introductory games, so I can show off what a great system Hero is, I just worry that I am not running as fast as I could and wanted suggestions. I am going to take to heart the END suggestions. I will probably enforce the Player END payment. I would go and get the basic book and run it at cons, but well, I hate to reduce my game by that much. I do tend to skip bleeding and everything but still keep knockback. Does anyone think it draws away from the game if I hand out a speed chart with say with Defender, Kinitek and then M1, M2, and M3 where those M's are bad guy place holders? Also, thanks for the invite to run together at UCON. I might have to think on it, amazingly I might not be able to attend because the wife might have a new job. Richard
  3. All- Well I converted to 6th edition, but wanted to ensure that I could really fly through combat so I came up with a card system for my Hero: Champions event, to make it quicker. Well some folks played it and didn't appreciate it, so I am looking for suggestions on how anyone makes their game quicker for convention, 4 hour slot play. Do you give everyone the exact same speed? I am not a fan of that, because my Brick should not move the speed my Martial Artist does, but will listen to arguments for this method. Does anyone have a speed board, or other item? The Character generator I know will make one, and I used to have one under the Hero Resource Kit, but was wondering if anyone has done a speed board, with pegs or something. Do you run really low level characters at conventions? Me I am ready to roll with 400 pt 75 disad characters, and hate to water them down. Any suggestions would be helpful, as GenCon is just around the corner. Thanks Richard
  4. Re: Marvel Hero Database? Hey All- Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I appreciate the help on this tricky character. Maybe after I look at the right ups however, I will probably smack my head and say "oh yeah". Oh and the R does not stand for Robert, but Richard. No relation of mine Robert Downey.
  5. All- I was wondering if anyone knows of a website that has some of the marvel characters available in the Hero System? One of my players decided to play Gambit, from the Xmen, and I wanted to see what others did for his powers. I was somewhat stumped on some of them. Thanks in advance. Rdowney1
  6. All- I am looking to do a portion of the Hanna Barbera Power Hour at Origins, with a game that has Huckelberry Hound, Quickdraw McGraw, Hong Kong Foey and some others, and was wondering if there was a certain book you could suggest that might lend me some ideas for Hero system use. I was thinking of doing a Wild West sort of adventure, but might also do a mystery theme. Any books jump out at you? Steve Long suggested Pulp Hero maybe. Any others? Sorry I don't own them all, just Champions, and that doesn't really work out well for these types of characters. Thanks in advance Richard Downey rdowney1@yahoo.com
  7. Howdy all- I am relatively new to the Hero system. So far I like what I see, and have decided to add it to my gaming convention run events. I am pretty confident in running the event overall since I am an old hand at convention game mastering but I was wondering if there are those out there that would not mind taking a look at the Champions characters I am putting together for my event that I am running at Origins and giving me some feedback on the stats. I am going to be making them in Hero Designer ver 3 and could send the file, or I could export to another format if you would prefer. Please let me know either here or via email at rdowney1@yahoo.com, if you are up for looking and giving feedback. Richard Downey
