  1. I did this once before and found a great player and GM, so figured why not try again. We are looking for players. We play champions, but also CoC, D&D, and I am going to be running Vaesen soon. But Champions is my preferred game. I have been running Champions for over 30 years. Just a little about our group and our gaming style. Most of us are 40+, we have one player in his 30s. The game and story are more important than the rules. I am into character development and role-playing. Yes, we have plenty of combat. But if you are a murder hobo you won't really fit within the games. I don't run the Champions universe, but do have some elements of it such as Demon and Viper. But that is not always the case in the past. Depending on the game, it may go 4-6 sessions or it may go on a long time. My longest running campaign was 10 years. You will fit in if you are a sports fan, a movie fan, like camping and hiking, and don't mind a few drinks... or more in some cases. We are using 6th edition. We usually play at my place in Whittier, typically Friday nights starting around 6:30 until usually around 11. If I do find enough players that want to play other days, and my other group is willing to do that I am down for that as well. If you are interested let me know.
  2. Re: Escape Artist Thanks. Both ideas help.
  3. I have been wanting to come up with a character that would be an escape artist. But I thought that instead of just doing skills, maybe some powers that would represent skills would be a good idea. I want to come up with something like the typical movie escape where at the last second the person figures out how to get away from the trap, just as it is about to explode, and he (or she) manages to get away just before the explosion that would kill him destroys a 2 block radius. I have some ideas but I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas that might be less cumbersome than mine.
  4. Re: Super hero comic No problem. I just thought of posting this in the hopes of getting more people interested, and tried myself not to say too much about anything regarding what you had decided. Good luck to you as well, and thanks for the tip on the location to post.
  5. Re: Super hero comic Well, not that I wanted to gravytrain off of someone else's thread, but I figured since it was already on the table I would just continue with it. There are a lot of talented people that contribute to these discussion boards, who have great artistic talent. I myself, although I have been trying to learn to draw, can't even draw a good circle. So if there is one artist on this site looking to collaborate with someone that wants to write stories, there must be others. I am curious to see what artists here would be interested in collaborating. Before reading this thread about the Dark Horse contest I had considered starting an online comic, after a friend of mine had talked me into it. So I would definitely be interested in several artists that would be interested, because at the rate I'm going on learning how to draw there might not be any more comic books!!
  6. Re: Looking For An Artist Thanks. I appreciate all of the suggestions.
  7. I know that a few people here have hired people to draw their Champions characters. Although I have been trying to learn how to draw I am looking to have some characters drawn fairly soon and I am certainly not a skill level to do so. Can anyone recommend a good artist or if you are an artist that draws characters, for compensation of course, let me know.
  8. Re: Random Name Generator Thanks. Those will certainly work.
  9. Okay, I had some computer problems recently and lost all of my favorites. Someone had placed a link for a random name generator that, either they had creted themself, or found. Could someone please tell me where I can find that link? It's the best name generator I have found.
  10. Re: Drawing Super characters. Thanks. Those sites seems like they will be helpful.
  11. After playing champions for half my life, I have decided to try and learn how to draw. I have a few books on drawing the human form, and I have how to draw comics the Marvel way. My question is to those that are not artistically challenged, like myself. How long did it take most of you to learn how to draw? I can really only put in about 30 minutes an evening, four times a week, to practicing. Sometimes I can practice for an hour. I used to have trouble just drawing stick figures. I don't want to be Jim Lee. I would be happy if I could draw like Rob Liefield (I just had to say that because of that Teen Titans thread). But if it's going to take me a long time to even be slightly good, I am afraid that I will have to give up, and keep using either Heromachine.
