  1. Has anyone done any work on Tekumel -> HERO? Sort of a, TekumelHero? I hate reinventing the wheel....
  2. Re: Build: Rune Magic - Flight Summary: So, in order for this to work the way I intend ( some unknown, unlimited number of "runes" out there pre-charged up and waiting to be used ) it would be similar to building magic items in Fantasy Hero? ( kinda like the "enchantment" stuff )

  5. Re: Build: Rune Magic - Flight My problem with Usable By Other, is that it is specifically usable by one other. Or you have to buy an advantage to increase the maximum number of simultaneous "others"..... At least, that's the way I'm reading the advantage description. If I'm wrong, then it's no big deal.
  6. ok... so, I want to build a spell where you paint a rune on someone/thing to give them flight. The Usable on Others doesn't really cover it. Basically, he should be able to cast the spell ( draw the rune ) as many times as he wants. Plus, he pays END to activate the rune (as opposed to the recipient) and it should last for a limited time. I'm getting kind of frustrated trying to figure out the best way to do this... is this a Transform, or maybe an Aid, instead of the Flight power? I used to build powers in my sleep, but I'm getting rusty after a year of no HERO.....
  7. Re: Spell cost multipliers? Use them or not #1 best way to control magic: Allow only spells that you ( the GM ) have created. They then buy spells from that list. that's all I got
  8. Having difficulty thinking through a couple of powers. Enthralling Touch Anyone touching the character, or that the character touches becomes enthralled in a sort of vampire seduction way. Mind Control 6d6 (human), persistant, red end (0), no range, always on, does not provide mental awareness. I THINK I want to use "mandatory effect". It only has this one effect, and either works all the way or doesn't work at all. The thrall might follow simple suggestions, but basically their entire attention is focused on the character... fascinated. That would seem to limit the usefulness of the power, but I'm not sure to what degree.... advice? Quick transfer question: The dice you roll for transfer is the active points, yes? That is, if you are transferring BODY to END, since 1 BODY costs 2 points, then if you roll 10 you actually transferred 5 BODY from the victim and generated 10 END for yourself, yes?
  9. Re: Newbie: Building a Power I'll try each and see what is cheapest... NND normally doesn't do BODY, but I was listing the advantage "Does BODY", which is a +1 advantage to make an NND that ... uh.. does BODY... (BTW I copied the "disintegrate" part from the Star Hero book)
  10. Re: Newbie: Building a Power Wow.. those first two make so much more sense than my version. Having the Transfer go to REC so when they fade... duh. That's a little slower than I wanted, but the second version ( the... how do we say.. genius! version ) makes it all better. Isn't Drain cheaper? So I can't get more bang for my buck there. You guys are awesome.
  11. Ok.. two notes, one I think I have non-revised 5E book, don't know what's different so... Also, I have only been playing this game for a little over a month. Here's my quandry: I have a super gadget guy. VPP. Builds cool toys. You know the drill. So I want to create this gun that drains STUN from a target, stores the energy and uses it to power a disintigrate effect. ( RKA, NND (ED Force Field), Does BODY ) I can't figure out how to do this... elegently. How do I hook them up? The D-Ray should only work on energy that was drained from someone. Isn't this Transfer? My crappy version, the only one I can think of uses three separate powers, linking the two powers by a END reserve that has no REC, so it has to use the Transfer to get powered up. Then the D-Ray effect can only be powered by that END reserve. Tell me there's a better way?
