Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine
And now, from a pair of depraved minds from Colorado, he's "a bad, bad Mormon."

Rep for Theron for getting just the right amount of "skank" on Talisman.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
In part, the Romulans underestimated the resourcefullness of the Star Fleet engineering corp. Another part was the Catian security officer discovering just how much of an asteroid base one can take out with a phaser rifle set to max. How'd they manage that?Would anyone be surprised if I said that the Catian's player had the nickname, "Mad Dog?"

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Quotes from tonight's L5R game.
Our Tsutuchi Bounty Hunter: These are Crane peasants. Only the best fleas for them!
Me: I could have played a Matsu, but then I would be playing a raving psychopath.
GM: No. The Deathseekers aren't raving psychopaths.
Me: True. I wouldn't be raving.
Looking at a castle's floor plan, we notice that the interior walls get thicker every level up you go, with the bottom floor's interior walls being rice-paper screens.
Me: It's load-bearing rice-paper.
Me: Hang on. You're casting a spell that only hurts the bad guys? Who are you, and what have you done with our bang mage?

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine
Using the select tool in paint, right click and select the "stretch/skew" option. Resize the percentages (keeping the two the same, of course) and then resave as a jpeg. And that should do it.OK made a picture. Saved it to paint using print screen. Erased all the superfluous pieces. And saved it in sample pictures in my c drive. (note can this be done with photos from Adobe Photoshop Starter Ed.?). So now it is 1600 x 1000 bitmap image. How do I crop this so it can be uploaded? -
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Heh. Reminds me of our old Star Trek campaign. We were the crew of the USS John Henry, an Oberth-class transport. Our job was salvage and demolition. The GM gave up after we came back with the John Henry, under tow, in a "salvaged" D'deridex-class Warbird.

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine
Press the "print screen" button on your keyboard. This will copy exactly what is on your screen at that time to the clipboard. Then, open up ms paint (or another image editor you happen to have) and paste it there. Then, cut/crop/paste as needed.I happened to find this thread while doing some random searching, and I have tried out the character creator mentioned. Very useful for those of us that cannot draw. However, I do have a question. How do you save the images? There does not seem to be a control that allows you to do so.

Re: High STR + HKAs, thoughts
*snip* However' date=' we then get into called shots in systems where the points needed for 8 PSL's to offset hit location penalties are a pretty small investment, and where CV's can vary quite dramatically.*paste*[/quote']Which is why I don't allow more than 3 targeting penalty levels. This allows you to reliably hit the chest, and mitigates other locations. Like anything in Hero, it really comes down to the GM asking themself, "What am I willing to let my players do?" -
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
From last night's Star Wars game.
Me: And all our droids speak Dosch. The Trandoshan's the one who did the programming and I'm not arguing.
After entering a system, we are intercepted by pirates.
Pirate Leader: Stand down and prepare to be boarded!
Me and the Trandoshan gather our weapons,
Me: Oh, oh, can we? Please?
later, after we had successfully captured their ship.
Me: What is it with us and people that try to board us?

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine
as a NINJA HERO? he seems a little like GREEN LANERN AND IRON FIST with a touch of thelegend of the dragons GOLDEN DRAGON to meI think there is definatley a Martial Artist Green Lantern hook here. Isn't there a solar powered light (lantern?) that is called a Jin Lu Deng? Also' date=' I think Deng may be a surname that means green.[/quote']And I'll have to owe Bubba his rep. This was me taking far too long in the reimagined thread for Green Lantern. (Lu Deng=Green Lantern in Mandarin). -
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Actually' date=' being well-used isn't a problem. I cut off the heads, pull out all the hair, and recolor the pony anyway. [/quote']And we thought that Trawler did strange things to toys... -

Reposting images for the sake of completeness.

Re: henchmen for hire
In my campaign, there's an entire company similar to ARGENT which not only acts as a temp agency for henchmen, but provides safe houses, clean up operations, etc...

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine
Okay, playing (somewhat) fair to the thread, I give you Lu Deng.
Rep to the first person who figure's out how this character started...
The hint is in the name

Re: High STR + HKAs, thoughts
On the flipside' date=' I think a player with a 1 charge attack would be more likely to haymaker it. The thought might be 'If I've only got 1 charge, might as well make it count'. I wouldn't rule out haymaker.[/quote']Especially if he's got a good read on the target's speed. -
Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine
weldun' date=' what art program is that ? CoH?[/quote']Yes. Don't ask for links or the like, it'll just get deleted. -

She's got the figure of most of the Serbian girl's I've seen.too much red' date=' is she [b']Serbian [/b]?There are some perks to working crowd-control. One of them was Serb-night.

Re: High STR + HKAs, thoughts
I really wonder that people think this is abusively powerful in the context of a game where 70 STR isn't. The guy can get 18 DCs anyway just by performing a Haymaker maneuver; the STUN lottery is kind of stupid for one-shot attacks' date=' since if it doesn't take out the target he's crippling himself with the side effects. Even if it does take out the target reliably (it won't, for any target against which 70 STR punches couldn't do as well) it greatly reduces his defenses against any other opponents.[/quote']Except that he can then haymaker this attack...
